This is a popular restaurant on the weekends - but the line moved quickly - we only had a 20 minute wait. And it was worth the wait. I had the omelet - light, fluffy, cheesy. No overcooked eggs here. My dining companion had the eggs Rothko - again, excellent. The brioche was light and buttery. I like the new... More

Food at egg was great (omelet & the eggs Rothko) our service was pleasant but very difficult to attract to the table and after we'd started eating I noticed the special's menu down the back of the restaurant - we would have ordered from it. The daily dishes sounded great. French press coffee was really good, wait time for our... More

Great breakfast! I loved the cheese grits and candied bacon! This is a beautiful modern restaurant! Come before 10 am on the weekend to avoid the rush because this place is so popular.

New space on N.3rd makes it much easier to get a seat. Eggs Rothko still amazing! The hot sauce really takes it to another level.

We ate out for three breakfasts during our US Open weekend in New York and ate here twice! We only had to wait on Monday morning. The service was efficient and the food was mostly delicious. We loved the carmelized grapefruit with mint, the fresh squeezed orange juice, and the French press coffee. The pancakes and French toast were adored... More

Duck hash was amazing! It's worth the wait. I can see why this place was bib gourmand. The coffee wasn't the best, even when adjusting to New York standards (perhaps, coming from Australia where coffee standards are perhaps too high?). The ambience of the place is definitely noteworthy, even if it is totes hipsterish. Try and go a weekday as... More

I think I expected more because of the 30 minute wait, and the reviews but it was just "okay". I wanted to try the duck hash but its not served on weekends. :( Ordered the omelette but was told I couldn't add any meat or extras. (I HATE to be told what a chef "can't" do. "Can't" really means "won't"... More

From the queue on Sunday morning, it seems to be the place to be. Unfortunately, waiting 40 minutes was really not worth it. Took their hit, the Rothko, and could hardly finish. Too rich and not so tasty. Nothing really special that could justify the price. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

I absolutely loved Egg. Went to NYC for a few days so was fishing for recommendations and a friend mentioned this one. We were staying in Manhattan but made the trip out just for the duck hash. Fantastic food, charming service AND you can crayon on the paper tablecloths, what's not to love!
