The name is unique and so is the food. Loved the parings and contrast the chef creates. The steak is a favorite! A hidden gem in an up and coming neighborhood

We went there during a weekend trip with another couple who lives in the area. It was excellent. We went late so we missed the dinner rush and got sat right away. The food was amazing, especially considering the tiny kitchen we passed on the way to the table. We tried entrees and small plates and everything tasted great. Service... More

Highly recommended. The food quality was excellent, brilliant anitpasto selection. I recommend the goats cheese and fig pesto tartlettes. Service was average, casual and friendly but slow, I ordered an Arnold Palmer which only came at the end of the meal because of a lack of fresh tea but they didn't charge me for it. Portion sizes could have been... More

When our party of 4 sat down to dinner at @6:00 p.m. (timing is significant here), our waitress dutifully informed us that each of our respectiive appetizers and entrees would be served when they were ready. In other words, each would not be served at the same time. We assumed (wrongly it turned out), that dishes would be served within... More

Really nice place and great burgers. The veggie options aren't massive though. Good food, really good service and very affordable. Worth a visit.

The menu of small plates and creative cocktails evolves from season to season. The service is always friendly and efficient. I really appreciate the range of veggie options, the solid draft beer choices, the use of seasonal vegetables, and the choice of quieter homier atmosphere in the back versus lively bar scene in the front room.

Food here is quite good, but it's overpriced, and servings aren't too ample. Can be very noisy at times, too.

Who knew that 25 blocks from Park Slope, on the other side of Flatbush Avenue, lies this gem, situated on the corner of Bergen and Vanderbilt in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights. The "crack" bread (named because it's so addictive) will start you on your way. Main courses the night we visited include mahi mahi, scallops with a fabulous sweet potato mash,... More

Beast is predictable, consistent and not too challenging. It's on Vanderbuilt Avenue in Brooklyn, so it's in a quickly changing neighborhood siphoning up the people somewhere between their late twenties and early re-hab. It's acceptable bar-food. It's a lively bar-scene. It's in a cool building. Not a destination on it's own, but certainly worth checking-out if you are in the... More

Took my daughter and a couple of friends to this Prospect Heights favorite. Everything was totally delicious and very reasonably priced. Got caught a little short on cash (they do not take cards) but fortunately there is a handy ATM a half block away across the street. I had the chorizo hash and my daughter the Grilled Prosciutto and Asiago... More
