This so-called hidden restaurant is a gem in Brooklyn. You sit in your own private 'cubicle', with the entrance covered with a curtain. The staff is amazing, very friendly, and will provide the best help. This restaurant is like a tapas restaurant, but Japanese, meaning it's best to order a couple of dishes and share with your company. We shared... More

I dislike nothing! Everything about Zenkichi is perfect. Best Japanese food in NYC, really romantic atmosphere, waitstaff couldnt be more on point, and extremely tasty sake. Everything is worth the price. Ive been a regular here for about 5 years, and never had any issues.

We drove to Harrison, NJ and took the PATH train to Union Square to NYC and then the L train to the restaurant to have our New Year's Eve dinner. Parking next to PATH was easy, inexpensive ($11 for 12 hours), and safe. There is plenty to browse about in Union Square and you'll be in Brooklyn in 5 minutes... More

The ambience is amazing , every table has its own booth and it's very warm ... The music is usually jazz that I love and the stuff is very friendly ! I highly recommend it for a romantic dinner , the bamboo decoration adds to the experience . The food was fresh and good, we got the omakase( chefs choice),... More

We came here our last night in New York and it was a great way to end our trip. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was brilliant. You eat in your own secluded booths. The sake was quite expensive so we stuck to just a couple of glasses, but you can have a different sake depending on the course.

you know you are in an authentic Japanese Restaurant when instead of playing kitchJapanese background music, they are playing straight-ahead Jazz. Every booth is private. The service is excellent. The sake list is comprehensive without being overwhelming. The food is sublime. And a trip to this place gives one a chance to be updated on Wiiliamsburg's renaissance ( even if... More

The food is creative and delicious - and yes lots of small plates so you will spend some $$ and might leave hungry. But if you are adventurous this is one to visit. I can't even comment on the decor because it is dark and narrow and once you get to your booth you are behind a pull down shade... More

4 of us had the omakase, 2 if whom are solid firemen and nobody left hungry. Recommend going with others as with any prix fixe menu, it will be a couple of hours and it's a great way to spend time. The sake menu is extensive and those I was with say it was very good. Removed a star since... More

Zenkichi has a rustic and exotic feel to it with intimate booths privately secluded with bamboo blinds. You press a button to get your server. The food is exquisitely prepared and to die for. A true gem! I went for business, but I hope to be back for Date Night Nirvana.
