This little spot is so well known that you often have to wait in long lines to get. The pizza is very thin and expensive ($close to $30/per pizza). For 6 people, we had 3 large pies: cheese, pepperoni and artichoke heart). We probably had 1/2 of a pie total to take home. Also ordered a cheese calzone which was... More

My son and I visited Lucali - third stop on our "best pizza of NYC" tour - based on its consistently top or near-top of the charts rating. After an hour and a half drive, and 80 minute wait, we were ready ... and it didn't disappoint. The crust is quite unique -- very light, with crisp, charred edges, and... More

Keep it simple. This place does it and that's what makes it great. Sometimes you have to stand in line for a long time to get in. Once inside, the menu is limited to pizza with about 5 choices of toppings and calzones. That's it. If you want wine, you have to bring your own. There's no corking fee. They... More

This place is top notch. There is usually a wait because the pizza is great! The place is BYOB which is great to bring either a cheap beer or delicious wine with your pizza. Everything is classic and absolutely fabulous. The topping list is short but you do not need much more. Basil and garlic come free and I'd recommend... More

As a pizza enthusiast, I decided to wrap up some pizzerias I haven't been to in my home borough. I looked up Lucali and ordered a pie through the phone. The wait time was 30 minutes (no problem). The girl at the other end of the line was very pleasant and helpful. Upon picking up my pie, I was greeted... More

Great pizza with fresh ingredients. Restaurant is warm and charming. Be sure to get there before 6 pm to stand in line for the tables, otherwise you may have to wait for an hour. Bring your bottle of wine, there is no charge for uncorking.

This place is so full of character and charm its unreal! The staff are super friendly and helpful. 2 choices; pizza and calzone. Not that you need anything else. The pizza is classic and simple, everything fresh and yummy! A few toppings is all you need. This is definitely no frills but it's by far the best pizza I've ever... More

I can honestly say this is the best pizza I've ever had, and I've had a lot of pizza!! I'm in New York with my girlfriend as I'm running the New York marathon tomorrow. We researched some good restaurants to visit and came across the best 25 pizza places on Time Out! This one was number 1 and only 1.3... More

Came here with family on a Sunday at 5:30. They open at 6 and at 6:02, the restaurant was full and busy. We had a toddler with us (they have no high chairs!) but took our order very quickly so help us eat quickly. The pizza was ready in less than 10 min and the gushy calzone was ready 5... More
