Long Wait and No Reservations so make sure you're there by 5:45-6pm as they are only open 6-11p and closed on Tuesdays. Love the pizzas but the calzone is my favorite! Get the large calzone if you are more than two...also, BYOB or BYOW. Enjoy!

Lucali focuses on what it does best: basic pizza and basic calzone; no parmigiana heroes, baked ziti, caesar salads or rice balls. If you've got wheat allergies, you're definitely in the wrong place. Also, if you can't tolerate potentially long waits for a table, walk around the corner to House of Pizza on Union Street. Or, better yet, grab a... More

Got there at 5 PM, doors opened at 6 PM, lots of people standing outside to get in.. close to 6 PM the hosts come to the door and read the names off the list.. we made the cut to get in. Suddenly the restaurant became filled with people.. No menus, but the waitress was kind and helpful. Only meat... More

We arrived after a big day walking and sight seeing, tired and hungry- the place was the perfect antidote. We didn't have to wait too long - just long enough to go to the wine shop and take in the street. Cosy and warm, very pleasant service and the pizzas were perfect. The simplicity of the limited menu was lovely... More

This is a mix of old Brooklyn and new Brooklyn. Great pizza and do NOT forget the calzone. yes, it is hard to get into, isn't that the same for anything that is this good? Be wise and you will get in and really enjoy yourself. We do come here regularly and when I can not get in I go... More

My family and I have been going to Lucali for years. It is our go to pizza and calzone place. We have eaten at the best pizza places in NYC and nothing tops this place. The owner (Mark) and his staff are great. It is hard to get into because the place is small so you must bring your patience... More

Both the pizza (pepperoni) and calzone that we ordered were off the charts good! So tasty! The only downsides are that things are expensive and there is a HUGE wait to get to get in. But at least they call you when they're ready for you. So i suggest catching happy hour somewhere on Smith street while you wait. Also,... More

Certainly the best pizza I have had in a while. If you are traveling to NY from Europe you might not consider a pizza in Brooklyn, and that would be a mistake. The pizza here is up there among the very best. The thin crust is delightfully light and the fresh toppings come through the tomato and cheese base with... More

After a year long wait, I finally made it to this little spot tonight. I arrived at 7:45 and was told the wait would be an hr and half. The wait was expected so I strolled over a few blocks down to pick up some wine (how can you not when it's byob?!). Waited maybe another 20 minutes after I... More
