We found this by chance, walking over to Smith Street from Bond and Elgin. What luck! We were hungry, but that doesn't account for the appreciation of the variety on the menu and the mixture of tradition and innovation. I stuck with the traditional Juevos Mexicanos, but my daughter took a variation of Eggs Benedict with a Mexican twist. And... More

French/Mexican mash-up--why haven't I had this before? It is perfect, rich and luscious like French food, but spicy and exciting like Mexican--perfecto! Service is great, ambiance great, overall great! One of my faves in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill hood. Only downer is that they are AmEx or cash only :(.

We found this place by just strolling down the street from the hotel we were staying at. The decor was warm, inviting, and had a lovely wall mural with the restaurants concept on it. Our server wasn't friendly, and didn't smile once. We just felt him slightly hovering over us, and staring from afar. However, there was a vibrant and... More

Went to Joplie's based on a recommendation from a co-worker and was not disappointed. Decor was very warm and inviting and they have an outside area where you can eat on nice nights. Service was excellent and the food very good. Had the escargot which was just like I had in Paris. I also had the steak which was cooked... More

This is the kind of restaurant where i want to try everything on the menu. Very high quality cooking, interesting combinations, well presented. I have been back several times and each visit is better.

Less than 1/2 block down from the Nu Hotel in Brooklyn this restaurant is by far a cut above from the others in the area. We stumbled across it by chance and were glad after walking up and down Smith Street looking for a place with character. Menu has a wide range of food and is kid accommodating. Need I... More

Nice bar scene and the Wednesday dollar oysters is great. Steak tartare was wonderful. Tasty crab cakes, though petite. Excellent wine.

There are few restaurants that I can truly say I adore but this is definitly one of them. I am picky. But I pick Jolie. Never have I been dissapointed. From the risotto teeming with lobster to the perfectly cooked lamb to the green pepercorn sauce on the steak to the the chocolate macadamia cake it is all delicious. What's... More
