My review that I submitted today was unfortunately listed for a restaurant with a similar name on 86 Street in Brooklyn. That happened because this restauramt does not list its name as Cafe Istanbul. I have eaten here before and have previously reviewed this restaurant. I ate lunch here this week , I ordered Lentil soup and fried anchovies for appetizers and lamb shiskebab as my entree. The lentil soup was nicely spiced and light. The fried anchovies were delightfully tasteful and slightly crisp. The lamb shiskebab was succulent , nicely marinated and cooked... More

This restaurant is by the waterfront in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NY. The place has great ambiance with attractive decor. What is better is the seafood and shiskabob and attentive service. I most often order brazzino or the St Peters fish. The lamb shiskebob is so tender and tasty, it is often difficult not to eat 2 entrees. The appetizers are... More

Decent Turkish food, good-sized portions, reasonable prices, fast delivery. The portions, when part of the catering order are not large, I'd advise to order additional entries.

We planned to stop by for dinner after dropping some friends at JFK and we're glad we did. The lentil soup was great and the varieties they had for the main course were amazing. The mixed grill was tender and delicious with generous quantities. The meat bread (lahmajeen) was great. We ended up with Baklava that was fresh and not... More

The food is tasty. I really like Turkish food . It's healthy and tastes great. Some places Don't get the seasoning right but this place did Atleast when I ate today. I had the chicken kabob sandwich and could've eaten 3 how good. Would definitely eat here again.

The family and I ate here last night and had a wonderful meal. This was the first time I had been here since hurricane sandy, which damaged the place badly. It looks great now and has so much local personality. The owner actually used decorative items from his mother and father which were from turkey, which I found so interesting.There... More

I've been a loyal customer for many years. The decor is authentic, the owner is there most of the time to greet customers, the food is great. Their latest addition, "bubble bread", is great and I think complimentary to every meal. They allow you to bring your own wine and NO cork charge. One of best places to eat and... More

The place is packed and so is the food, with grease. I had adana kebob, Lamacuen, and a chicken pita which was served with plain bread not traditional. If you likle fast food Turkish you may like it but if you want a more formal dinner they have a real restaurant next to the fast food, from the same people,... More
