Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Deafening

We shared a wonderful birthday dinner. Lovely staff and excelent food. There is real excitement in the air -- mostly because the food is so good. On the negative side, no reservations and the wait can be excessive and the din of the room, when crowded is deafening (brick walls, wood floors and... read more

On the negative side, no reservations and the wait can be excessive and the din of the room, when crowded is deafening (brick walls, wood floors and tables, no soft surfaces). Still the food... I am almost hesitant to review this restaurant because I don't want the secret to get out! But from the reviews listed here you can see it's already well on the way to becoming famous for its great food. My daughter and I went to Brooklyn on a very rainy/snowy/slushy day in early January. We walked along Court Street, in... More

Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had. This place is kind of in the boonies if you are staying in Manhattan or even in the Burg, but well worth the effort to get there. We showed up without a res. and were seated within 2-3 minutes by a kind hostess. This place screams "Romance" with a gentle... More

A great place in Cobble Hill for amazing pasta and cheese. Oh and they have a pretty well stocked bar as well! Try the Cavatelli with sausage and sage brown butter sauce. I don't think I can eat pasta anywhere else again. The Gnocchi was also amazing, melted in your mouth. It's a small place that gets busy so get... More

The food here is OK. But the Fennel Salad is to die for. I ate 3 once. It is really just amazing. Over the years I have tried many many things on the menu and as I said they are all ok. However the salad make this restaurant #1 in my book!!!

My wife and I have eaten here many times during our visits to Brooklyn, thought it was time I wrote a review here. This is a small, neighborhood place on Court Street in The Carroll Garden section of Brooklyn. It will probably require a wait on Friday or Saturday night, but it is worth it. I love the Cavatelli, almost... More

I love the meatballs. The meats, cheese, crostini, etc. are all great. A friend loves the cavatelli, but the pasta is too dense and doughy for me personally. But the tiramisu was respectable and it was really delicious. Great atmostphere, good service.

A group of 8 of us went to Frankies for lunch on a lovely Saturday. Because of the size of the group, our choices of food were limited, and we had to choose in advance. We picked a roasted vegetable platter and a fennel salad to start, followed by BLTs, tuna sandwiches, and two pasta dishes. Everything was fabulous. The... More

The place does not look like much. But the food. Wow. A large group of us went for a late lunch, sat outside and shared crostini, carafes of wine and pastas. All were delicious but I keep thinking about the braised octopus salad. Just amazing.
