Hearty Brunch served with genuine care

Thoroughly enjoyed a late brunch of Biscuits and Gravy after a meander through Williamsburg building an appetite. From the outside it appears nondescript but the interior is cosy and welcoming. We loved our experience here. The service was very good, they had good knowledge of the menu and were very attentive. The place was. Use but they managed to fit us in outside. The bloody Mary's were tasty and spicy. I had biscuit and gravy with greens and scrambled egg which was perfect. The burger was massive and there ewe... More

If you don't already know of this place, it is not obvious that it is a diner. The sign is on the inside door, after the outside door is opened. It is cozy, comfortable, the food is great and the service is very good. They accommodated our party of 16 people and managed the orders very efficiently. The menu is... More

The dominating theme in the food at this restaurant is salt. The duck soup appetizer could have been delicious - the combination of lentils, cabbage and duck broth sounded great, but the overpowering salty taste ruined it. For a main dish I ordered a hamburger with a salad on the side instead of french fries. The hamburger was so salty... More

As soon as we entered this place, which had come recommended, we realized that it was way more upmarket than we expected from a diner. No problem, a nice brunch is always a good thing right? The menu we were handed was limited, and it turned out this was because more than half the menu wasn't on the menu -... More

long waiting time, overly salty food, overpriced meal!!! We ordered the sirloin and were very disappointed (counting that it was an $80 plate)! There are too many other good restaurants in the area to waste your time going here - it's just trendy and overpriced, nothing else.

Our son lives in the neighborhood and recommended it for a Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere, really good brunch food. Loved the latkes, country breakfast and frittata. Great people-watching as well, particularly for us non-Williamsburg types. I'd make the trip out of Manhattan for this in a heartbeat.

Had a lunch there with a colleague and wasn't so enthusiastic about the food. It's good but not brilliant as what I've heard. Had a good trout and green salad. Pricing was OK. Atmosphere is very casual...

Delightful. Wouldn't have found this had it not been for the very nice man who runs Pilgrim surf store. He took time to show us on his iMac exactly where it was... You don't find hospitality & service like this every day. Loved Williamsburg and also this lovely hostelry. 5 stars.

The food in Diner is exceptionally good, with a brilliantly thought out, innovative menu written directly onto your table cloth by the waiter/waitress. They're also lovely, engaging, good fun, well versed in all the menu selections including the wine and beer. Diner itself is a great location under the Willamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn, so in a real old-skool part of... More
