Simply put, this is one of my most favorite restaurants in all of New York. I certainly don't have to travel far, I'm a short 3 block walk away ;-). LUCKY ME!. Al Di La's interior is oozing with rustic charm..Old floral wall paper, tin ceilings, exposed ducts, beautiful curtains, etc.. The ambiance is very warm and inviting. Nice selection... More

My husband wanted to eat in an Italian restaurant in New York. So not to be disappointed I looked in the Eyewitness travel Top 10 New York City guide and I choose this restaurant. We wanted to leave Manhattan because everywhere seemed to be so expensive and we wanted to experience a different area. The restaurant was packed with people... More

O boy....how do I start. From the beginning. We arrived at 5 pm for our family "session" for the six of us. We were greeted warmly. The ambience was Italaisn Country Down Home Bistro! Wait staff was exceptionally knowledgeable about food, it's prep, and wine. We then began a three hour journey to the culinary heavens! Pastas were awesome. Salads... More

After a day at the American Museum of Natural History, we came back to our hotel in Brooklyn. Google reviews and Trip Advisor reviews all pointed towards a great Italian meal at "al di la Trattoria". It was small, charming, packed with locals and lots of ambiance. We did not have a reservation but took a risk as it was... More

Fantastic ambiance, warm knowledgeable staff, communal tables that facilitate conversation between groups if people are open to it, and great food. They do not take reservations so go here early in the evening for dinner. If you put your name down on the wait list, go around the corner to their wine bar and have a cocktail while you wait.... Really enjoyed my light lunch here - soup of the day, bean and vegetable with a little pancetta was nice. The pasta with ragu was delicious and highly recommended. Nice atmosphere and the service was friendly and efficient.

This was my favorite meal that we had in NYC. We came out to Brooklyn for drinks and dinner on only one night during our trip, and we were so lucky that we chose to have dinner at Al Di La. We came on a Wednesday night and actually didn't have to wait for a table, which was also rather... More

We arrived at the restaurant about 5:25 (they open at 5:30 on Sat) and there was a line of about 20 people. The restaurant filled up pretty fast - about 5 minutes after we were seated. The food and service were terrific. I had the linguini with clam sauce and it was excellent. Portions are small, so I would recommend... More

I last ate at Al di la about three months ago. It continues to deliver. The ambience is festive, but crowded. Too many families with very young children. The food is reaonably -priced. The soup was a wintrer squash, kale, etc concocgtion and was delicious. The pastas were spaghetti with clams and a fettucini - both delicious. Meats were pork... More
