My daughter and her husband took me here to celebrate my retirement. What a wonderful experience! The service was superb. All the tables were decorated with beautiful flowers each different. The food was outstanding. The view of the Manhattan skyline was so special. Loved is so much!

You must have a reservation and coats are required for the gentlemen. The dining room overlooks the water into lower manhattan. If I can figure out how to post a picture, I will. The view is spectacular. The foie gras and duck are simply define. Their signature dessert is a chocolate dessert shaped to the Brooklyn bridge and, while this... More

Been meaning to eat here on previous visits to New York and have now finally done it.Have to say that everything about the place is top notch and would recommend it to anyone especially for a special occasion. It is though by no means cheap.

My husband had booked a table for dinner months in advance on what was a surprise birthday trip. It had been recommended to us by new yorkers we met in Italy a few years ago. Had not eaten on previous trips as it is out in Brooklyn and as other reviews have said rather expensive. However for a special occasion... More

My wife and I had a dinner here in December 2014. We'd love to come back, but mostlyfor the wiew to be honest. The food and service experience was not as good as expected. It's not at all bad, but we got a feeling that they were in a hurry in order to get the meal done so the later... More

Even though we stayed in Times Sq we had decided that the taxi fare would be worth it. We were not disappointed. I suppose it thinks of itself as "posh american" but the River Cafe is somewhere that you can enjoy a good meal, with a great variety of wine and very pleasant staff who, once you chip away at... Never been to a restaurant with such a fantastic location and the views of the Manhatten skyline left you speechless. We got some fab photo's. We had dinner there so had the nighttime views of all the lights. The staff were friendly and service great. The menu was quite limited but very good food. Maybe a littel expensive, but worth... Very old school, and we loved it that way. Views are spectacular. People should understand that looking from Manhattan is great but looking towards Manhattan is even better. Older crowd, a place for graduations, big celebrations, for parents to have formality and kids to have experience of how fine dining used to be (and that isn't a bad thing). Tried... More

My fiancée took me to a special dinner at River Cafe last weekend and it was a fantastic dining experience ever. There's the gorgeous views of the New York City's famous establishments across the river such as the the Peace Tower, The Empire State building, and of course the Brooklyn Bridge! If you ever go there don't forget to try... More
