We celebrated my birthday dinner with a memorable dinner at this lovely venue just across the Brooklyn Bridge. The views of Manhattan are renowned. The dining room is quiet and elegant, the pianist excellent, the service impeccable, the foie gras delectable--if you ask, they will sear it instead of serving the terrine shown on the menu. I took my boyfriend here for dinner to celebrate his birthday while we were in New York for a few days. Everything from the view and the service to the food and the wine is fantastic. I actually can't find fault with the River Café at all. The set price allows you to relax when choosing from the menu as... More

Four of us decided to go to celebrate our 30th birthdays and it was brilliant. It would have amazing views but it was snowing when we went but that didn’t matter at all. It has a brilliant setting on a barge on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge. We started off with wonderful cocktails at the bar. They had... More

First and foremost, this place offers breathtaking views of Manhattan skyline. The grounds of the restaurant are also very nice and romantic. The service was impeccable. You don't go to this restaurant solely to fill your stomach, because you will not - the portions are tiny, albeit delicious. You go to this place to impress your date with your taste... More

The first time we went to the River Cafe with the knowedge that the view was great and all the reviews were top on the food and service.lists. Wow, these were understatements.Somehow, too, I missed that the restaurant was located on the East River and next to the Brooklyn Bridge on the water's edge. The lights on the Bridge sitting nearly... This is fine dining at its best. The view is great, service wonderful, food delicious. Very Pricey but for those who can do it or for a special occasion as I do it, it is great.

Overhyped and overpriced. The view is better than the food, which is underwhelming, and there are a lot of less expensive places to get just as good a view from the Brooklyn waterfront.

From start to finish this was a fabulous experience. Beautiful surroundings (even on a rainy day), easy to find, and from the moment you walk in you feel like you're in a nice place. It's not scary-fancy as in you don't start feeling out of place, its just absolutely lovely with a pleasant atmosphere, a pianist plinking away at the... More

With Brooklyn Bridge with striking views of Manhattan from the East River, the iconic River Cafe does not disappoint for a special occasion. I took my wife here for her birthday. The decor was very classic and the atmosphere - sophisticated. The courtyard was adorned with fresh flowers secluded from the hustle and bustle. The staff were all lovely, knowledgeable... More
