nice place, great service (*)

I was a guest at the hotel where the restaurant is located. Once I went in for breakfast and had to wait a while to get served, but every other time I was served by Chris who was on top of it, professional, and very friendly as well! He also makes excellent drinks at the restaurant bar and the... read more

In a nicely appointed restaurant we sat down for our meal. We took the paired wines with our meal and it all worked out quite well. The proper wine wine the proper course in a well time cascade of food and beverage. We would come back.

The art of a sublime chef is to combine distinctive tastes into a fascinating whole that transcends the ingredients -- unfortunately the chef here doesn't come close. His pretensions made the combinations odd and a bit awkward. Our waiter was a disaster, our cocktail came with dinner instead of before, and he was MIA at bill paying time.

Given that we were dining on Christmas Eve, I would not have been surprised had the service or food been a little off. But, everything was wonderful: the venue, the greeting, the service and most importantly the food. We each chose the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Our server was quite helpful with any questions we had about... More

First tried to go here earlier this year when you had to call a month in advance and hope you could get in. Got a reservation back then, but a snowstorm dashed the plans. Now I was able to call a week in advance and get a 7 PM reservation on a Saturday night. I guess the buzz is gone.... More

Is Nouvelle cuisine making a comeback? Oh lord I hope not, although it would appear to be alive and well at The Elm in Brooklyn. I must admit as soon as I stepped through the door and descended the staircase to the restaurant I knew that this wasn't the place for me - the decor is so slick like New... More

Beautiful environment. Incredible service. And my mind was blown by this sandwich. Something about the bread, cheese and how the egg was prepared was sooo delish! The coffee was perfect. Not too strong. Not too light.

Me and boyfriend are cooks for a living so when we decided to come to New York for a trip, we both agreed to go to Paul's restaurant because we are both big fans of him. We we're let down by our meal and the service. The menu wasn't describe very well and the server wasn't very informative either. We... More
