Cherry varenyky!

I went to Cafe Glechick to taste the cherry varenyky: cherries-filled ravioli in cherry soup. A little too sweet for me, but really good! Reasonable price and good, kind service. You can ask for a plastic box to bring the food home if you did not menage to finish it. I definitely think it's worth... read more

I have recently gotten into Russian Food, so I asked several Russians I know for a good restaurant. Quite a few recommended Glechik. For an expensive, cash only eatery, I was not impressed. The tables are packed in tightly. The food is so-so. Many items were sold out. At one point, I was told they were out of ice. And... More

We went to this place based on our friends recommendations. Apparently there were two Glechik places in Brighton Beach, so we ended up in the closest one to the Subway station, in Glechik Café. This place is small, so we barely made it (fitting 5 people). There were some local Russian speaking immigrants celebrating somebody's Birthday, so we had a feeling... More

With the many eating options along Brighton Beach Avenue, we settled on Cafe Glechik, a place that's all about the Ukrainian food. The name of the cafe comes from the clay vessel that's used in cooking, so it was only fitting that we order some Siberian pelmeni (6). Twenty five steamed little dumplings filled with pork and veal came served... More

I choose Glechik to bring a guest (and friend) because I knew that Glechik is famous for its Ukranian and Jewish food. Glechik's "farshmak" better than home made and of course their signature dishes like cherry dumplings "vareniki" or any dumplings is always a hit.

If you routes are calling you, visit this perfect spot for the experience of Ukrainian cuisine. Great service, cool interior decor, stuff speaks English, Ukrainian and Russian! So you will not be misunderstood there. Menue is in both English and Russian. Great place for family and or business meetings.

If you want some real east European cuisine this is the place for you. I am Russian and I can truthfully say that the food they serve is every bit as homemade and authentic as my grandma's cooking back in Russia! Beware of their huge appetizers portions. It's likely that you won't have any room left for the main course... More

This is my favorite Eastern European restaurant, which I stumbled upon several years back while exploring Brighton Beach. Not only is the food great, though the overall experience of eating here is so fantastic that I had to share it with others. Food: It is all great, though there are a few things that are fantastic. They have the BEST... More

The servers were very pleasant and were willing to answer all questions about the menu items, the food was very good, the price was moderate. Two things to be aware of: they add a 10% service charge without noting that on the bill and they take cash only.

Not only we enjoyed the meal which included borsh, rabbit stew, chicken kebabs, lamb liver and much more, we also enjoyed the atmosphere and decorations. There were Mr. Bean episodes running on TV, and kids were all busy watching that. A perfect idea!!! :) The food is delicious, even the french fries are better than anywhere else!
