The food here was really good, authentic Italian, with a good wine list; the mushroom risotto was very flavorful; their selection of bitter greens as sides was really good as well. Excellent artichoke/barley soup! Friendly courteous efficient service. Only negative is the bread, that had no character; though the olive oil/tomato dip was excellent and deserves better company!

Had a fine meal with a good recommended Sicilian wine...Risotto was uncommonly good for a local restaurant...Service friendly...Only negative was the bread that had no character; would expect a hearty rustic Sicilian loaf with this fine quality of food...

Popped in here for dinner prior to an event at BAM and were pleasantly surprised by how decent this place was. Though it was busy on an early Wednesday evening, we were seated and had some nice glasses of chianti with spaghetti carbonara and there is a "to share"pizza appetizer that we just loved. In and out on time for... More

This restaurant if close to BAM and so we popped in on a warm Friday night. The doors and windows were open in the front so we sat there because the back room was too warm. They also have outdoor dining in the front. The food was just OK and very reasonably priced. Waited forty minutes for the food and had... More

Holding four tickets for the BAM on a Saturday night. Followed the recommendations of the TripAdvisor foodies in the prior reviews and made a 6:00 reservation at Scopello. Could not have been a better choice. Tremendous Grilled Calamari Salad, tasty Caesar salad, delicious homemade Pasta entrees (I enjoyed the .Linguine Alle Vongole). Reasonably priced entrees. Perfect menu for theatre goers... More

Located in a great location...only 2-3 blocks from the train station, BAM, Theatre for a New Audience, and Barclays. We went there before catching a 7:30 curtain. Charming place decorated very nicely. It's small but that adds to the charm and coziness. We arrived early enough for a drink or two at the bar before dinner. The bartender was very... More

Located on a great Brooklyn village square we wandered into this charming place for a pre jazz concert meal (Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra - don't miss them!). A Sunday afternoon and it was packed with local families all enjoying the food. At our table we enjoyed pasta, risotto and meat dishes and even ordered a side of their delicious meatballs when... We went at 6pm for a 7:30 curtain, knowing that we had to pick up our tickets and it's a zoo. They are good at getting you out in time without your having to stress over it. Food is very nice. We each had something else and everyone enjoyed. Good choice when going to BAM. 2 blocks away.

I was taken to lunch by distant relatives who highly recommended this eatery, and no wonder! I had arrived early and was made welcome by the staff who gave me the option of sitting at the bar or going to the assigned table. Once the family arrived we settled down to chosing out meal which was made difficult from the... More

Coming home (our rented apartment on Lafayette) from the BAM (John Turturo feature, for Ibsen;s The Master Builder), Scopello's patio tables lured us in. Alas, outdoor dining it was not to be. "Only for drinks, diners inside," we were told. Inside was actually very nice. Wait staff friendly and welcoming. But then there's the food. AWWW. As in awful. The... More
