This was our 3rd visit to Henry's End, having eaten there on our last three visits to NYC. It is a great place to get away from all the touristy restaurants in Manhattan. It's a true neighborhood restaurant that I found by using Zagat some years ago. It's a small restaurant, with small tables and a small kitchen, but the... More

A local gem, in the neighborhood for over 20 years. Quality dining in a very unassuming place. Always try to encourage friends to go here.

On a Wednesday night in June, about 7:30, it took this two-thirds-full place fifteen minutes to plate two cold appetizers, a Caesar salad and the special pate. Heartbreaking to think this great institution has lost its way.

Thanks for being a loyal customer. I apologize that you had to wait for your appetizers. Sometimes when the restaurant fills up quickly, like it did when you were there, the cook doing appetizers gets overwhelmed with orders. He tries to put them out in the order they come in, which means sometimes tables do have to wait. Please tell... More

This isn't really a travel review, as I live around the corner, but just a quick note to say that Henry's End is a jewel, and if you are visiting New York put it on your list. True it is dark, and when you walk in seems claustrophobic but by appetizers it seems cozy. The food is extraordinary - and... More

Small neighborhood restaurant with innovative recipes served in a small quiet venue! While visiting family we had dinner here and have nothing but raves!! Duck with raspberry, penne w/ lobster, veal w/lemonaise. All scrumptious! Delicious bread at the table and excellent service. This is one of my fave places along with Noodle Pudding a few doors down!

My husband and I spent an overnight at the nearby Brooklyn Bridge Marriott and asked the concierge for dinner recommendations. Henry's End was immediately suggested. After researching online reviews, we went ahead and gave it a try. We tried to make a reservation but when we called, we were told that only parties of 5 or more could hold a... More

Recently returned to Henry's End, which was a favorite place I dined at weekly back in the 1990s when I lived in Brooklyn. Not much has changed, and that's a good thing. The menu still features a host of duck entrees (I had the duck with strawberry, which was the daily special), dishes with andouille and veals. The breadbasket still... More

Small gem in the nabe. Food is great, service is professional and friendly. Bonnie is the best waitress in NY. Many, including me, go there to see her smiling face. Wish there were more like her! Sole citron, Duck dishes, the game menu.....delish.

All four of us loved our meals at Henry's End last Saturday night. We needed a 5:30 reservation so that we would be finished in time to walk (10 min) to Bargemusic at 7. The waitstaff had been alerted to this, and, despite the place filling up quickly, we were treated well in an efficient manner and not rushed at... More

This is a fine, old-established restaurant in Brooklyn Heights. The food and service are superb (although maybe not a veggie hangout) and they have a fine US winelist. The special feature is a winelist of old wines at affordable prices . I'm almost loth to give away the secret. In fact, I'm going to tease you. If you like fine... More
