I've been wanting to try Peter Luger for many years and finally made it. The Porterhouse for 2 was the perfect size. Steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. Hash browns were the perfect compliment - crispy on the outside and so flavorful. We ordered the broccoli and was pleasantly surprised that it came out crispy tender. Our waiter was... More

Peter Lugers - I can honestly say you were my worst dining experience in NYC. The service was terrible, our apps came after our steak and strangely enough our sides after that. The steak was fine but to be honest i hate the fact its comes in boiling butter / fat..... Your creamed spinach had no cream, no seasoning and... More

I remember my first time at this place in the early 90's. Other than sendai steak in Japan I had never had a steak so yummy and we'll prepared in my life! Over 20 years later it is still one of my favorites. It's weird not being able to pay with cash like we used to (no credit cards either... More

Read an article in USA Today about a month ago and they had the top 10 steakhouse in America listed. With our trip planned to NY I had to visit. I'm so glad we did. Absolutely the best steak I've ever eaten. We had the steak for 2 with spinach and bread. They say the other sides are great but... More

It's an icon for a reason. May not be the absolute best but it's close and if you can swing a reservation you will enjoy it. Always order steak for one less than your party, pile on the sides (we prefer spinach, potatoes and the tomatoes) and go for the house bottle of red. Bring cash or your debit card,... More

It's my second time eating in this very famous steak house, especially heard about a lot in China. Still good and almost full of eater in 3pm. But not surprise me as last time and the waiter here made me some unhappy. Not sure if it's for their not bad food or my Asian face made them full of pride.... More

Let me preface by saying I grew up in New York and this was my first time eating at Peter Lugar. It was three of us and a baby and we feasted. The thick cut bacon and shrimp cocktail were great starters. We also got a house salad with extra bacon :) The porterhouse for 2 was plenty and cooked... More

We recently visited to NYC and made our family's pilgrimage to Peter Luger's steakhouse in Brooklyn. Unlike other reviews we have seen the service was warm and inviting. We were seated immediately but we had made reservations. The steaks the bacon and sides were delicious. It is expensive but well worth it.

My first experience with Peter Luger's steak was having it brought in to a conference room in Manhattan during a marathon meeting. I couldn't believe how good it was and assumed it had to be even better hot and fresh at their restaurant. Indeed it was. I can't even quite describe what makes it different. I suspect it has something... More
