We went for a celebratory lunch. I read the reviews extolling the steak and we were all really looking forward to a very special meal. The steak was average at best. The quality matched what I would have expected at an average diner, which is why I would never order sirloin at an average diner. All four of us had... More

I love steak. I've eaten many times at Ruth's Chris, Mortons, The Palms, etc. The meat served here is as good as any other steak restaurant I've eaten at. I'm rating this Excellent because the meat is as good as any you will have anywhere. The cooking and preparation were perfect. I prefer a little more seasoning and I also... More

Some months ago a friend was in NYC for a conference related to his work. When he returned he called to say that he had the best steak he'd ever eaten at this place and we have to take a trip there. I'm always up for a good steak, so I agreed. He made reservations months in advance because he... More

After reading about Peter Luger for years finally had the opportunity to go while traveling through Brooklyn on business. Had clients in tow and was excited to finally go to the famous steakhouse. Well the poor experience started outside with parking. No place to park. After paying a guy out front, he moved a car to allow me to park.... More

I came here to eat a once in a lifetime meal at a great steak place, seeing as I am not from New York and probably won't get around to ever returning I made it a point to come here while I was in town, and I will say I was not disappointed. The service was amazing, I sat at... More

Another wonderful steak dinner ...never a disappointment , attentive and fun wait staff to ensure a positive dining experience. Worth the short trip over the Williamsburg Bridge...on a clear evening the view is spectacular....NYC all lit up...breathtaking. Creamed spinach....unbelievable...and the schlagg...the German whipped cream is the perfect topping for any dessert . Go to Brooklyn.....with a hearty appetite ...you will... More

This review is a quick summary for people asking whether they should go there or not. Locals do not need this. Peter Luger polarizes. The restaurants is in Brooklyn. With a taxi it is quite expensive because you leave Manhattan. With public transportation it is not very easy to get there. From the metro station you have a 10 minute... More

We finally made our way out to Brooklyn to eat at this legendary place and try their "steak for two". We ordered it medium-rare (as we always do) and it came out perfectly. Now, would I say that this is the best steak I have ever had? Probably not, but it is up there...

Peter Lugar's is one of the places to get a great steak. I had the roast beef once and although good it does not compare to their steak. I met business associates for lunch. We spent the better part of two hours eating and talking. I washed it all down with a dark beer. I prefer the room past the... More

if you are a steak lover, you're gona love it. make sure you make reservation way ahead of time. a bit of a confusion getting there, or just take a cab. a bit pricey but its one of those restaurants where you are actually happy while paying the check plus tips. highly recommend anyone who's in town.
