We took a family trip here and really loved it. The original Grimaldi's is in a spectacular location right under the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side with amazing views of lower Manhattan just outside the door. When I think about New York sytle pizza, this is how I picture it. The pizza is hand made with super fresh, delicious... More

I was in New York with my daughter and grand children and after crossing Brooklyn Bridge Grimaldi's was our destination. We arrived around noon so we did not have to wait. We ordered 2 different pizzas which we're very good. A lot of cheese which I like very much. I would of enjoyed a glass of wine but they don't... More

Visited the original Grimaldi's Brooklyn outlet as a stop on the Slice of Brooklyn tour. Interesting older building and also fun seeing the chefs make the pizzas. We had the thin sliced variety and it was very tasty. Just under the Brooklyn Bridge and up from the shoreline park.

We walked across a fair swath of lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge with Grimaldi's as our destination. We had heard it was great, even the greatest, from a number of people. We arrived about 1:15 on a weekday afternoon. Yes, we had to wait in line, but only for about ten minutes. The staff, including the doorman, were all... More

To be fair our expectations were set high - several New Yorkers had recommended us to get pizza here, plus the place gets a star write up in the Lonely Planet for New York. And when you see the queue outside, you think - it must be worth it, otherwise why are so many people waiting. We hung in there... More

The view while waiting an hour in line is of Manhattan Bridge, and old warehouses being converted. After an hour we were seated at the table and the menu sheet thrown at us. Half hour later the waiter comes back and we told him our order, and after only 1 hour, we got our plain pizza. It was so dry... More

Best pizza I have had in New York City! I highly recommend pepperoni and Italian sausage. The wait wasn't too bad around noon when I went, though the line got significantly longer as we waited (approx. 15 minutes). There was free water outside for people in the line. Once we got inside, the wait for the pizza was reasonable, and... More

This is no longer the place its reputation was built on, but just a tourist trap. The new location lacks atmosphere, the crust is soft and doughy, they don't have beer (it's on the online menu), the service is offhand, the air is filled with visual and audio clutter (tv screens and 50s pop music), the air conditioning (if it... We went to Grimaldi's at about 330pm which is probably a good time to go and avoid waiting due to lunchtime crowds. We got a table right away and generally felt we were working to get the attention of the wait staff who were busy doing their own thing. Once we ordered it was another longer than usual wait before... More

Too much hype. I much prefer joes or bens pizza. Not so impressed. I wouldn't wait on line for that. The atmosphere is nothing much. But it is a cool old building
