Had a lovely evening at the grocery with a multi-course tasting menu paired with wines. The owners presented every dish and wine and are clearly passionate about their menu. From appetizers to dessert and port, the meal was relaxed and delicious. Highly recommended.

This is a hard one.. Sparsely decorated small cramped dining room, There are maybe 30 seats, and since they keep the curtains closed, no peering in from the outside world. It is quite literally like dining in someone's oddly undecorated apartment. Fine with me .Definitely harder to stand the waitress bus tub close to your table. Porcelain from Fish Eddies,thick... We had chosen of The Grocery through the Michelin Guide. After our visit we tend to agree with their rating: very nice. Small, warm, and quiet, a good setting for a good meal with good conversation. The chef is in the kitchen and his wife on the floor. Additional staff are extremely attentive and get out of their way to... More

You have to know that all dishes are appetizers so you need to go with a group. Most choices are veggies with two fish and one lamb. They were ok but not special

We have gone to this restaurant 4 times and the experience has gone slowly downhill. The food is good but the portion are way too small, I know that this is supposed to be tapas size but at an average of $15.00 to $25.00 it is a bit expensive. Their wine list is extensive and expensive and each time I... More

We eat here for the first time last week- we sat inside as the outside, which looked lovely was full to overflowing, which was very quiet but very comfortable and intimate. Greeted by the chef who was fantastic, incredibly welcoming and warm. We got chatting to some regulars who had been coming there since it had opened who were full... More

Friends from out of town wanted to try this restaurant, and although at first we could not get reservations, they generously fit us in on a Friday night. We did the tasting menu, and everything was really superb. The service was great. The chef was very attentive and quite friendly. The duck entree stood out, and the skate was delicious... More

This restaurant is one of the best I've been to in a while. It was recommended by a friend over two years ago, and we finally made a reservation. Although very small in size, you appreciate the impeccable service and attention you receive by the wait staff. We were given a complimentary appetizer, chilled corn soup and potato croquette by... The Grocery is by far one of the best restaurants in New York City, not just Brooklyn. The menu reflects the season and local produce - it is creative and simply delicious and very well-prepared. We live around the corner from the restaurant and feel Oh So Lucky!! The food is consistently excellent. It is an intimate space but not... More
