I found this place by luck years ago. I watched a master craft the pie by hand, grate the cheeses by hand add the perfect amount of sauce and crumble fresh herbs. All beneath a photo of him when he was a much younger man. It was so good I now travel almost 3 hours from Sussex nj 2 or... More

It not all it worth. The hype is more than you could image. The oil on the pizza makes the pizza soft and hard to eat. I got sick from pizza actually. The service is slow and they gave our pizza to someone else. The table are not clean and chairs old they do not take time the time to... More

While New York has great pizza all around, Di Fara's stands out even among the crowd, which is a huge feat in itself. From the freshness of the ingredients to the overall amazing flavor profiles (seriously, the vegetarian cheese and basil pizza is all you need . . . and this is coming from a meat lover!), Di Fara's delivers... I went way out of my way, my partner and I, to take several subway/train rides to find this place--all due to the intense hype in the media. First off, let me say, for what they charge for a slice($5) of pizza--even more for a whole pie($29-up), they need to invest in a new building that can seat enough people... More

Is it the best? Is it not the best? Who am I to say? All these reviewers who claim it's not worth the hype or I expected more, etc. are going about it in the wrong way to begin with. The only expectation you should have going into Di Fara is that you will probably have to wait a while.... More

what a pizza! no where else is such a home made delicious food!!! Mr. Di Fara does it all on his own, slowly, with patience and love - and you feel it in every bite! number 1!!!

Very simple review: I have tried all the famous pizza places in the NY area. Di Fara's is absolutely the best pizza in NY (which means "the world"). Only pizza. Nothing fancy, just a pie that is hand made and delicious.

This pizza is just awesome! Definitely get the Di Fara special and the regular cheese! Both are amazing. Pointers: Arrive before 7:30pm as they may close the door. All pizzas are made fresh by Mr. Di Fara himself. What a treat! Bring your own beer and wine to pass time while you wait!

Is not what I think of when I think New York pizza. It is thin, but its so flavorful and almost elegant. When u watch the owner take his time to knead out the dough by hand and take the pizza out of the over with his bare hands, and then cut the basil over the pie. The prices and... More

Husband bought a pie and it was crispy crust thin sauce was good I could go with out the basil kind of overpowering taste left as after taste. Overall try it once just to get it off ur list of pizza places. Wouldn't go back for price and wait time alone. So many better places and faster and cheaper.
