Little piece of France in Cobble Hill

This is a great little bistro that remains true to its French roots. The overall vibe and menu remind me of my days at uni in France and many an afternoon spent lounging with friends at a similar place. Food is quite good, traditional French fare and the wine list is also similarly good. The... read more

This is a solid choice for brunch. The food was very good, the portions ample and the prices were right. Several of us had a dish of merguez with ratatouille and potatoes baked together. Very tasty and appreciated by the three of us who had it. Several others had the french toast with fruit which was also declared excellent. The... More

A friend's band was playing here, so I went to have a drink. The wait staff is friendly, the location is convenient and the ambience is good. Next time I will go back to eat, as the menu looked tempting.

Decent salad, surly help. I was there between lunch and dinner and my presence and wanting to be fed seemed to be an imposition. The place was nearly empty yet they seated me right at the table across from the swinging kitchen doors. Oh, and they only take AmEX. So bring cash. Because who carries AMEX?

Like a real Parisian Café, they seem to be open all the time; breakfast through nightcap. There is live music most nights, and the buzz of the crowd is infectious. The food is better than ever lately. Classic French dishes are complimented by American and international items. Of course the Moules Frites are superb. It seems as if the whole... More

I live near Bar Tabac and I always so happy to have dinner here. I'm a native New Yorker and consider myself a longtime foodie and I cannot resist saying that for me, Bar Tabac has the best burger and fries in Brooklyn. It's easy to say that but everything from the freshest high quality meat, perfect brioche type bun... More

Nice version of a French bistro/cafe: carafes of cold rose, nice steak, salade Nicoise, always a cold bottle of water. Sit outside in the warm weather and you'll feel like you're on a small French city. Try the baked clams for a treat.

I have been a patron of Bar Tabac since I moved to the neighborhood in 2002. They have always been a great standby for a burger, Croque-monsieur, or a chevre salad, or perhaps some late-night pasta, or even just a couple of drinks, and people watching. It is still all of these things. However, this past visit was slightly disappointing.... More

We stumbled upon this corner bar near our hotel on our first day. The bartender provided amazing service and mixed drinks. The locals were extremely friendly and helpful with what to do in the area. We had the charcuterie plate which was good. We felt at home and eventually came back the next day.

Jeeaazus, best burger ever!! I always ask medium rare, and it's the best burger i ever ate in my life. The waiters and waitresses are very beautiful too =) I went with my husband, with my brother in law, with my parents, and everybody loved it. One of the many good surprises in Brooklyn.
