We arrived quite late on a Saturday evening but the waiter found us a table and we were attended to very quickly. Nice range of wines and a group of 4 of us shared some very nice appetisers before getting into our main course pizzas, very delicious. The restaurant has a really nice 'buzz' to it a worth a visit.... More

I had dinner here with a friend recently and, once I got over the slightly annoying Brooklyn hipster vibe, I found the experience moderately enjoyable. We shared a few of the appetizers - all very interesting flavor combinations that worked well. I was in the mood for pasta, but had a hard time finding something as a vegetarian. I opted... More

Absolutely delicious pizza in a stylish setting. The Clam pizza was amazing! The mackerel appetiser we had was also incredible. We were so impressed we even bought the Franny's cookbook to bring home with us. Love Love Loved it!

While visiting New York we decided to attend a Nets game and thought we would get some great Brooklyn pizza. The location wasn't as close to the arena as we thought and the food wasn't typical Brooklyn... Over priced pizza and service was lacking that special attention to detail especially given the price paid. The environment wasn't bad but considering... More

I've had a lot of pizza, and a lot in New York and New Haven, and what I've found in the past is that a really crispy crust, be-speckled with burn marks from an ancient oven, usually makes for the best pies. A lot of newer places have chewier crusts -- the outside edge dry but flexible, the inside stretchy... More

Had a chef's tasting menu the other night and it was truly excellent! Chef John Adler has captured the taste of a true Italian trattoria. The wines, presented by Lucca with a brief on their history, complimented each course perfectly as well. The Pork and Bean soup was simple and very true to its origins. The Fried Panelle was so... Want to eat italian focaccia? or a really really really almost original pizza? Then you have to go to Franny's! The food you can get there is exquisit, the service is wonderful, and you get a nice view in the kitchen from any table you are sitting at. They have also perfect wines! I recommend the Prosecco :)

What gives? Ok, I get adjusting to a new oven, but the pizza is just not as good- two pies, one with greens, dough really burnt top and bottom- the buffalo mozzarella, tomato, basil was watery, and had little mozzarella , and was also quite burnt but acceptable to me, tho not others in my party. Arugula/ apple salad was... More

$17 for a 13" (personal) pizza is not a good price. My husband and I thought we would share a pizza but it was so small, it was an appetizer for us. Our 'pizza' had a large burn spot on it. When you are paying that much money, you should be able to eat the whole thing. I understand it... More
