Stopped by last night planning to dine and Belleville is CLOSED! Door locked tight, lights off (Saturday night). Big surprise. RIP.

I can't vouch for their culinary offerings, but Belleville is a charming little bistro where you and your special one can while away an evening over drinks and take in the cozy atmosphere. But leave the beret at home: this is not a "theme" establishment.

Wife and I visiting NYC for the week - stumbled upon this restaurant and went for it. She had the wild Mushroom risotto, I had the mushroom bisque and grilled salmon - very good food. Good music/atmosphere, pleasant unobtrusive service. TUE evening dinner.

A very pleasant experience in 5th Ave. Restaurant Row in Brooklyn. The first time I went for Brunch. My quiche was fine but service was even better. The Bellini was on the house just because I offered the manager to share my table with another guest. (The place was crowded and I was alone). After this I returned twice for... More

Nice local French "comfort food". Nice food in a comfortable & leisurely setting. Had nice salads, mussels & sandwich. Only regret is that on weekends they serve very egg-heavy brunch instead of a full lunch menu. Been there a few times for dinner and I think that's more of what I prefer. But will definitely go back.

This is a nice enough French-ish joint in Park Slope. But for the price (close to $100 a head) I would want to have a truly memorable experience, not just an okay one. Service was just a little off (standoffish and poorly timed). Food was okay but not much more.

Having given my recent review of CAFÉ LAFAYETTE the title “Mini French Brasserie”, I was tempted to use “Maxi French Brasserie” for BELLEVILLE. Like the Café Lafayette in nearby Fort Greene, this place has captured the ambiance of a French Belle Epoque Brasserie, but Belleville is much more spacious and tops the Café Lafayette in just about every category. The... More

Wow what a difference a change in management can make!! Belleville has recently been taken over by a handsome, young and energetic French couple with a new chef and it is their goal to make this a super Parisian Bistro. They are well on the way to great success. From the moment you enter, you might be greeted by Dan... More

We were strolling on 5th avenue looking for a dinner spot and decided to check out Belleville's menu. From first glance it did not look very exciting and just as we were ready to move on, the owner who was standing outside came to us and told us he had just moved from Paris and they have brought in new... This was a happening spot. The owner may be new, but the staff has years of experience and moved like a well oiled machine.
