The grilled octopus was outstanding -- tender and crunchy at the same time. Also good vegetarian options; try the fava bean purée with chicories. And the wine selection is delicious, especially those imported by Jan D'Amore. Fine service; the room was a bit noisy though.

Did a full day sightseeing in South Manhattan and then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge; dodging the cyclists and slow walkers stopping every five minutes to take photos (in the way of everyone else!!!!!!) Went into Dumbo, saw the entrance dropped in a for a quick drink (very thirsty) and found it was in the guidebook. That said, you could... More

Only 2 blocks north of the Brooklyn end of the bridge on Front Street. Lovely little cafe. Great food. Good portions. Friendly service. Everything you want when you need a quick bite.

Stumbled to AlMar whilst visiting Brooklyn, very relaxing place away from Manhattan. The food was great, service was great, we loved it! The building was interesting, great that there were no televisions anywhere! If visiting DUMBO again, we wouldn't hesitate coming back here. The only one tiny little downside, is there is only one toilet in the building... So if... More

We were staying on the upper west side while visiting NYC. We happened upon this place while checking out Brooklyn but then came back almost everyday until we left. The food and coffee was great an excellent value, friendly staff and the atmosphere was perfect. Will be visiting against when we return

We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge with friends from NYC in search of this restaurant and were certainly not disappointed. The delicious meatball appetizer, a salad and a glass of red wine would make a nice light meal here, but of course we couldn't, and didn't, pass up the main courses or desserts! Friendly service, a good selection of inventive... More

Ate brunch here on this quiet Tuesday ... although the food was excellent, the wait staff seemed to be MIA. My coffee came cold ... I sent it back and got a hot cup. Then, my "Egg in a Cloud" and my husband's pancakes came barely warm. The waitress left right away so my husband searched around the restaurant for... More

I haven't really noticed anything particularly italian about this place (and I was surprised to read here, that it is put in this category), but nevertheless I recommend to drop by and try their creative cuisine. I got here after having walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and the Promenade... I ordered Black Kale Salad (from the specials), and what they... More
