Good food but otherwise bizarre

Standing in the line for the only toilet in this restaurant I was advised by another patron to have the chicken. Having returned to our table we were recommended that dish by the waiter who described the ingredients in great detail. We were impressed and both ordered it. A few minutes later the... read more

Went here for lunch on Saturday. Very busy (20 minute wait) but worth it. Great menu, especially the specials (I had one of them, the meatball parm sandwich) Good location as well. Recommend.

Excellent breakfast. Not a large menu, but well done. Locally sourced, of course. The decor is suitably Brooklyn. Staff was friendly. Water is in pitchers on the table. Coffee was excellent. What more could you want?

Two families, set fairly quickly, staff was small but work hard to take care of all! Food was good, yet typical "brunch" non-inspiring menu. Unfortunately, we didn't find out to the end of the meal they don't accept credit cards. ATM in lobby with $$$ Fees.

We took a cab over to Brooklyn with the intention of having breakfast and then walking back over the Ridge to Manahttan It wasn't easy to find a place but this was recommended by the grocery store and what a gem it is. Poppy served us in a lovely manner and the whipped eggs in a cloud made this the... More

After crossing Brooklyn bridge we ended up here for diner. We had to wait 15 minutes before we got seated. The place looks industrial and that makes it noisy. Food was good, for taste and portion size. Service was pleasant. Prices for food are ok but the drinks make it expensive.

I thought the food was good but the wine selection was poor. The menu had a nice variety of dishes including appetizers. We had a mixed antipasto and salmon carpaccio with rucola (recommended). Pappardelle (pasta) with mushrooms and truffle oil and branzino (mediterranean bass); both dishes were good. I don't think it would take a lot to be a great... More

Had a great breakfast here. Frittata, egg sandwich and breakfast roll. Good service, well spaced tables. The dish egg in the cloud sounded delicious but ovens not working when we were there. Maybe one for next time.

After walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, my wife and I were searching for a place to have lunch when we stumbled upon AlMar. It was a nice surprise. We were early enough to be seated immediately. The soup, sandwiches, and salads were fresh, well prepared and delicious. Casual and comfortable decor. Tables are close together but not intrusive. Service was... More
