Good option for brunch

We had just crossed the Brooklyn bridge and Almar seemed the 1st good option for having lunch. Industrial-style room with wooden furniture, brunch type of food. My bagel with scrambled eggs, avocado, bacon and cheese was excellent. Pleasant service. To be recommended.

As brunches go, there were sensible, balanced egg-based options. I think most tables had reserved for that time of day, which I take as a good sign. The portions were not huge, which may or may not be what you're after. Their signature dish of egg in the clouds looks impressive, I had pancakes which were nice, an eggy bread... More

Such a homey, warm atmosphere located in this warehouse district. Bench, family style seating in a darkened, busy room. We were visiting with very old friends and this was a perfect spot. I started with the Aperol Spritz, a refreshing Prosecco, Aperol and lime juice cocktail. Their mixed salad was well dressed with a delicious tart dressing. The eggplant parm... More

Went for lunch with a friend who lives close by. Good food, service a bit slow but it was lunchtime. Food was delicious and reasonably price for a fashionable area. The environment was amazing it looks like the machinery has just been dragged out and ovens moved in; loved it!

Great atmosphere, service and menu. The warm rustic feel was cool. The menu had a really interesting variety, but not so crazy that the eggs and toast crowd wouldn't feel welcome. I look forward to trying lunch and dinner!

Fresh salads, panini or soup. Can be crowded, which is always a sign of good, worth the wait food. Close to Brooklyn bridge park. Nice stop before a walk around and then crossing the bridge.

My wife and I enjoyed eating at AlMar so much we went back a couple of times, our server even remember our names (which was lovely, funny what tipping can do! :) A very pleasurable experience, great choice of food and wine. Funnily enough, my youngest daughter recommended the place to us for breakfast, we never managed breakfast but thoroughly... More

We loved their panini with mozarella and traditional. Nice and trendy place, good selection of beers. Fine service. Nice bar.

You know how you remember places by the things that went weird? Settle back and read about our visit to AlMar. AlMar is a funky place in DUMBO for food and booze after a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. But before we ordered my wife went to the washroom. The one and ONLY washroom. Regrettably, a teenage girl had locked... More

The grilled octopus was outstanding -- tender and crunchy at the same time. Also good vegetarian options; try the fava bean purée with chicories. And the wine selection is delicious, especially those imported by Jan D'Amore. Fine service; the room was a bit noisy though.
