Excellence on Atlantic

A cozy bar setting on Atlantic Avenue with the requisite bar, brick wall and young attentive staff. Went with a large party for a family birthday. The food was fresh, well prepared and generally very good. Make a reservation especially if its a large group.

Came here for brunch after eyeing it for a long time and never having the opportunity to go. The space is beautiful, with lots of indoor plants and an a carefully designed, though fairly standard, Brooklyn antiquish look. The service was also very attentive. However, the food was very uneven. The shrimp and grits were bland, and the grits too... More

While exploring Brooklyn, we stumbled upon this restaurant. Busy, but only a 30 min wait and the bartender mixed a damn good drink. We got a premier table in the back against the wall with a waiter that was both attentive and very genuine, and quite humorous as well. Food was artisan, and the hot fudge sundae for dessert was... This small place is a very nice option in Brooklyn. Good drinks and good food. I had the burger and it was awesome. Nice service.

Went to dinner at Colonie. My expectations weren't very high but I had heard that the food was pretty good. I had the pork chops with the grilled peaches. It was delightfully delicious. The chop was tender and well seasoned and the peach was a nice contrast. The spoonbread could use a little (something to make it taste better) and... More

I have eaten at Colonie probably 10 times over the last couple of years and it has been such a favorite. Everything is always super fresh and the service is close to perfect. I like to sit and watch them cook at the bar in the back. There is literally not a bad thing on the menu but any seafood... More

This was the most delightfully surprising experience I've had in a long time. I'm new to the area and have been trying out places in the neighborhood. This was a non-planned, walk-up, look at the menu in the window dining experience and I was totally blown away. Every bite was indulgent and satisfying. The service was awesome. The decor was... Met friends here for drinks after work. We loved the drinks so much, we closed the place down. After the third round of drinks, we ordered food... oysters and clams on the half shell were great. We ended up trying more than half the menu and took no issue with any of it.

Loved the ambience and from the get go drinks and oyster specials at the bar were so nicely explained. Ricotta crostini delicious as were the macerated strawberries desert. What I loved however is that after sending our steaks back for being what we felt was underdone, the waitress and other young lady who was possibly the manager both followed up... More

Very good, been meaning to go back but haven't yet. Was part of a birthday celebration with a set menu culled from their regular menu. I don't know if it was just for that day/week/menu but the chef does great things with Meyer lemons. There was a Meyer lemon rind marmalade (they may have called it some fancy French name... More
