Went here with a group of friends. This is a busy and atmospheric restaurant with bare brick walls in a long dining room. Service was excellent. Our wait people were friendly, attentive and always around while being unobtrusive. One in our party ordered the fish of the day which was whole trout and said it was wonderful, moist and tasty.... Went on Saturday evening. Sat in rear where you can watch the cooks at work . Busy and vibrant. Good service and food although small portions. Steak was especially good. Expensive but a good experience.

I booked our team dinner for 17 people here and it was beyond perfect. Hard enough to serve 4 but 17? The staff was crazy good and the food was off the charts. Beet salad, fried chicken, hanger steak and any one of their desserts since we tried them all were amazing. Eat here! The food is amazing but if... More

We had Brunch here on Easter Sunday. It was busy, but we got a seat at the Chef's Table, overlooking the chefs cooking brunch. It turned out to be a great seat. There was a really good buzz about the place and the waitress was great. We had the pastrami sandwich and the duck hash - you should definitely try... More

What a cool place. Tastefully decorated, it is a pleasure to spend some time there. The chef sources local ingredients and creates delicious and inventive dishes. The burger I had there was one of the best, and most elegant, I have ever had. The bar is striking too, and the cocktails on offer are stellar. Some of their beers, from... More

Adult evening of eating and conversation. Difficult to recommend any dish when most good restaurants change with what is fresh. I have a passion for fresh oysters and they rotate by season. Fresh fish, vegetarian dishes to order, homemade soup for a cold evening and whatever your choice might be in wine. Great service by people who know their dishes... More

In a city with so many restaurants, it's hard to find something that stands out. Colonie is one of those one-of-a-kind little gems. I love everything about this place; the decor, the service and the food. I went there with my family and everyone was pleased, even my mother who is a great chef! I highly recommend to walk over... My mother and I ate here on New Year's Eve and even though we were both far above the average age we were not made to feel out of place and had a wonderful time. The service was friendly and knowledgeable but not cloying or too 'have a nice day'. The portions were not American size but they were not... More

Arrived at 7pm on a cold rainy weeknight and got the last open table ...Colonie doesn't take reservations. When we got to the food we understood why the place was packed even under such adverse conditions. But first came the wine. We didn't recognize anything on the wine list so our server gave us tastes until we found wines we... More
