I am in Red Hook Brooklyn once a year and I stay at the Comfort Inn around the corner on Sebring St. Every yeah I look forward to my lunches at Defonte's - These subs are massive and priced well and most importantly delicious.

Delicious sandwiches, great service, and a very personable experience! Will definitely return here to try more on the menu! The owner was so friendly; my husband and I enjoyed the conversation that we had--our visit to Defonte's made our day trip out to Brooklyn extra special.

This is where the dock workers used to eat man sized sandwiches before the hipster invasion of Brooklyn. When you would get scared to be on the street for fear of getting robbed people who knew what they were doing showed up here for lunch. A working mans place. Sandwiches made by the same guys like Nicky for the last... More

Great sandwich shop in the middle of Red Hook.... You have to try any sandwich with the fresh mozzarella... The mozzarella is made fresh everyday...Great sandwiches. . They're a little expensive but it's worth it. .

I've been grabbing lunch here for years and definitely set in my order. I always get a simple platter of potato and eggs casserole with a side of sliced roast beef. Prices can be a little high for a deli type setting but the food is good. Recommend for a quick stop.

The famous defontes sandwich shop of brooklyn is open on Staten Island. With all the perfection they have in Bklyn for decades they opened on water st off bay. I've had the roast beef, steak pizziola, sausage and peppers and chicken parm and all were made with the famous defontes touch. The only thing wrong here is that they close... More

Visiting here as part of a tour, we really enjoyed the potato and eggs with Virginia ham sandwich and the friendly staff and blue collar atmosphere of the shop only added to the experience. The range of choices here is vast.
