Brilliant Food

Loved this funky little place It's small and a bit noisy and young and cool The food is exceptional. We had the tasting menu which was exceptionally generous and good value at $50 per head (plus 20% gratuity enforced) plus drinks. We have mixed feelings about the restaurant. We sat in the section outside the back of the restaurant, a sort of terrace completely closed with transparent plastic or glass. Not ideal... The service was reasonably good. The food is served in sharable plates, which is a plus for us. Some of the food we ordered was quite good, like the... More

We sat at the bar which was great to observe the kitchen. it is really impressive how, in such a small space, the team produce such excellent food. Its hot sitting there but fun!

One of my favorite places in Brooklyn. It is a small place (make a reservation). The buffalo frog legs were out of this world. Yummy!

This place might be small or tiny but the food is huge. My niece took us here on our trip to Brooklyn, She planned ahead and made reservations a month in advance. If you don't there really isn't any squeezing you in anyplace.......Everything we had was great can write anything bad.... ..the service was excellent the prices fair...and did I... More

Man that was a good meal. So many great, exciting dishes at just the right size. We ended up order 6 dishes for 2 plus dessert, which proved to be 1 dish too many (should have skipped the foie gras, though it was tasty). Loved the sliders (smoked paprika aioli is a revelation), muenster cheese, tuna tartare...enjoyed the soft shell... More

Where do I start, first the place is small so you have to make reservation. I didn’t have reservation but i knew if i was there early I could eat at the bar and that’s exactly what we did, I enjoyed more if I would be in a table, because I could see the chefs preparing the food. I not... More

Our son lives in Brooklyn and we have been wanting to try Traif for several years. We were a party of nine, so we went with the Chef's Choice for everyone. Small plates, tapas style. OMG!! Each dish was so good. We started out with a pea soup, followed by tuna tartare on tempura eggplant, seared scallops and risotto, confit... More

Last Friday we enjoyed this experience so much! First with a party of six it worked perfect. We made check marks on the menu for the eight dishes - which was the perfect amount of food for six smaller appetites. They surprised us with an extra dessert. Our favorite plates were: the soft shell crab, & foie gras! You must... More

Traif is a funky, small plates restaurant in hipster Williamsburg, Brooklyn. it's small, noisy but fun. you settle in, order a bunch of dishes, which in turn show up randomly over the next hour or so. you sit, sip a drink, chat up a storm until one of these unique, wonderfully tasty dishes arrive. I think it's perfect for taking... More
