Started off a little rocky when they did not have our reservation. But quickly changed when they not only fit us in but amazed us with great service and interesting, delicious, amazing food. There were four of us so we did the "chef selection". Everything was the so good.

What a fabulous place....On a chance trip to Brooklyn we discovered this restaurant 3 blocks from where we were staying. Everything we tried (8 dishes between 3 of us) was superb, Each dish had too many ingredients to list but we had the lacinato kale, salt and pepper shrimp, broccoli rabe, black spaetzle, Korean Hamachi, braised pork cheeks, sweetbreads and... What a great evening; the food is excellent! We ordered 5 dishes and we enjoyed all of them. Everyone that goes here has to order the figs wrapped in bacon with blue cheese... One of the nicest dishes we have eaten! A definite must visit if you're in New York.

We had a family dinner at Traif and since we were five, we were able to savor 15 of the small dishes on the menu. They were all well prepared with fresh ingredients. The variety of offerings appealed to the various tastes. Some dishes that night were crayfish, sweetbreads, sliders, Shishito peppers, pork ribs, goat neck (yes and it was... More

An unexpected treat. Goodness throughout in an inconspcious location. Microscopic open kitchen. Chaotic environment, caring, skilled and friendly staff. Love it, 100% chance of return.

The airy doughnuts topped with dulce de leche and crispy bacon bits with a scoop of strong coffee ice cream is a must. The cocktails are creative and pair perfectly with the food. Get the head-on prawns and be prepared for a wonderful, delicious, spicy mess. For singles or couples, seats at the bar are recommended to watch the magic... More

The food here is just awesome. Try the tasting menu - its the best value for money: 11 dishes for $50 out of which 9 are savory and 2 are sweet. I've eaten here twice and loved it both times. The second time I was waaaay to full by the 8th course so I think the order of the dishes... More

My brother-in-law recommend Traif for our trip to NY. He made reservations for Friday evening and we were able to get in quickly. We chose to do the chef's selection which was a nice option versus trying to get enough of each plate for everyone. They were happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions (no Tartar due to pregnancy). The bacon... More

Yes it isn't kosher, but wow! We ate outside and loved every single course which they recommended. Some dishes we had to repeat. This is not an inexpensive place, but it is well worth it for a special occasion. We set outside on the covered terrace and it was spectacular in coolness (not too) and privacy. I recommend this highly.
