One our way to see a show at St. Ann's Warehouse, (and being an out-of-towner), I had no clue where to find a pre-show meal. Fortunately, the Warehouse website offered a few suggestions. But, again, never having been to that part of Brooklyn--EVER--I was still clueless. But, following the advice of the folks at St. Ann's, I made reservations at... More

Its rustic, no-nonsense interior, simple wine list and delicious menu--with something for carnivores or vegetarians alike--come together in a winning combination. Especially delicious: the kale Cesar salad.

Still a (relatively) hidden gem in BK. Good date spot. One of the better pork chops around and great wine list.

When I asked an employee at St. Ann's Warehouse for a post theater dinner recommendation, he immediately said that Vinegar Hill House was the best in the neighborhood. Agreed! The variety of cast iron chicken, flat iron steak, pork chop, fish, pasta and seasonal vegetables offered something for everyone. Each dish was well balanced --a perfect example of farm to... More

We have always adored this restaurant. We travel all over the world and it is simply the best. It was filled tonight and they asked if we would mind dining in the basement. The basement turns out to be the original building from colonial times bathed in candlelight with a roaring fire going on. We liked it better than upstairs.... More

This little, cozy, hidden place is just amazing! I had the most exiting and probably the best breakfast ever. Not the usual kind of breakfast but very very unusual and great! Grits, omelette, been salad with poached eggs, all with the twist! Yes, it might be pricy but I will never forget it! Every bite was to remember! My husband... More

Vinegar Hill House has a wonderful inviting visual appeal. Old fashioned and cozy, especially the lower level with the beamed ceiling and fireplace. That's where it ends. Super slow service. Although the food was tasty..for the price, the portions were incredibly small. And they came with nothing...so side, no vegetable...nothing. Everything must be ordered separately, which is not immediately obvious.... More

Went for a Saturday brunch - definitely out of the way, definitely worth it. The coffee is amazing...just the coffee. The place is charming, great local vibe, super-solid service. But, as it should be, the food is the highlight. We were hard-pressed to choose, but the amazing special of scallion pancakes with green curry sauce and house-made beef sausages was... More

An inwardly inviting restaurant whose staff took me back to the feel of a commune in the seventies. Arriving a little before opening time, we waited at the bar while the staff arrived (the chef toting her adorable baby son). Notably the other, and I can't say why, the other staff members, hostess et al, were rather distant and unfriendly.... More

We tried a walk in; VERY bad idea! They told us 1 hour to wait after two hours still nothing! The staff was not friendly and did not care about us. Finally we decided to leave without eating
