FOOD PLUS LOCATION? BAM! and TFANA, too

Reserve early next time you have tickets to the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) or Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) 'cause Caffe e Vino is not too big, but it's right around the corner at 112 Dekalb Ave. and it's a winner! Its menu is basically Italian with a good variety of dishes, a good... read more

Visited once for brunch and had an enjoyable meal. Suggested to our friends, also Brooklyn locals, for a dinner together after a movie. Overall, the price point would suggest a better restaurant than this was. The food was uniformly bland, the mussels out of the shell (a special appetizer) were not fresh (we were lucky it was a skimpy portion)... More

I ate here before a show at BAM. I arrived a little late because of traffic, but that was okay. The food was great and the service was quick. This restaurant knows that much of its clientele is going to BAM so they have it down to an art. I recommend this restaurant for its atmosphere, speed, and really good... More

Three of us went there to eat prior to going to the Harvey theater. The tables are close together as others mentioned. We were the first there with a 4:30 reservation and the door was locked when we arrived but they opened it for us. The waiter didn't know what the specials were yet-said the cook was working on it.... More

had eaten here last year and while it was very tight seating, the food and service were good. unfortunately, this is no longer the case (except for the sardine experience). the food was mediocre and not hot enough. the service was awful! no bread brought to our table. had to ask for grated cheese and an extra plate a few... This is a great place to eat when you attend an event at BAM in Brooklyn. It is a five minute walk and the food is excellent. In fact, for the money, it may be the best value in NYC. We had their fabulous fennel and orange salad, followed by the special pasta dish of the night of scallops and... More

Great Place, Great food! Cash ONLY Service was great and we liked everything on the menu. We had a large group and were able to sit easily.

Perfect dinner after theater - reasonably priced pasta entrees, SUPERB desserts - chocolate mousse cake was very nice, but the cheese cake was heavenly!

Our party of 3 had the pleasure of dining at this cozy Brooklyn restaurant before attending a performance at BAM. The home made pastas, ample portions and attentive service make this a go to spot for no nonsense Italian food. It's a feel good atmosphere to enjoy a leisurely dinner within walking distance to the theatre.

I had never been here before, so relied on lots of positive reviews. We had a short walk from BAM, and arrived between lunch and dinner service. Although I had few expectations, the restaurant was a pleasant and welcoming place, reminiscent of the small family restaurants of times past. The food was excellent, fresh pasta prepared with yummy toppings. The... More
