This restaurant is across the street from Fort Greene Park which is a nice place to take a walk. The restaurant is small and has a neighborhood feeling to it. Service was outstanding. The pasta fagioli soup consisted of pasta and the remainder of the ingredients were blended in a sauce. Tasty but a different presentation that what we were... More

I made a reservation for a early dinner for two for 4:15 pm today. We were the only customers at the time of our arrival. (The next party of 4 walked in at 5 pm). Despite the fact that the restaurant was completely empty were refused to be seated next to an open window at a table for four. My... More

Most people go to Caffe e Vino on their way to BAM. This may be an unavoidable mistake because it is a very good restaurant. Our best meals there, however, have begun at 7:30 PM when the BAM crowd has left. The delicious Northern Italian cuisine is served to order, and the service is personal. For some reason, the restaurant... More

A storefront on DeKalb Avenue at Ashland Place has been converted into a charming restaurant with garden in summer. The service was efficient and pleasant, the polpette unusually delicate, the fettucine cooked properly, the wine served in generous portions, the focaccia served with a good homemade spread without excessive garlic, the salads of rucola or fennel excellent without excessively oily... Cosy, unpretentious spot with good Italian fare, great pre-post theatre dining if at Polonsky Shakespeare Center or BAM.

Came here for dinner before a basketball game. Lovely little restaurant with low key decor. Really cute little spot. The food is absolutely exquisite. Both pasta dishes we had were fresh (home made). Sauces exactly right. Not over the top like so many of the other establishments in America... Having travelled around Italy several times I can honestly say that... More

Hi, As we are from NJ, we don't often eat in Brooklyn. But, we were attending a play at Brooklyn Academy of Music, and found this great little Italian restaurant within walking distance of the theater. The food was imaginative and the service was great. Definitely worth visiting.

Caffe e Vino was full the night we ate there before a performance at the BAM, and with good reason. The food was plentiful and delicious. Our first surprise was an amuse-bouche: a tomato flan for spreading on the accompanying bread. The flan was exceptional--a good introduction to the dishes to come. The calamari fritti was crisp, not oily, and... More

We recently had dinner on a Sunday night at this cosy restaurant conveniently located near BAM. The waiter and other staff were friendly and provided excellent service. While not a restaurant for haute cuisine, we enjoyed the salads and pasta we ordered very much. The wine list is modest but reasonably priced.
