Indoors can get noisy, but outdoors on a beautiful Saturday for brunch—before heading to the Brooklyn Flea—the General was perfect. Belgian waffles, smoked salmon, eggs, fries, pork links, prosecco, coffee, beer, all was good. I'd like to see the bathrooms upgraded. Otherwise, don't change a thing.

We were in NYC last week to move one of my daughters out of her college dorm and took the opportunity to met up with my other daughter who just moved to Fort Greene. The weather wasn't that great so we wanted something close by and The General Greene is in her new neighborhood. We met up for dinner and... More

We met some family members who are visiting in Brooklyn --- and had a very pleasant experience at General Greene's. The staff was friendly and responsive, the food was above average (though not outstanding) and the prices were reasonable. We were there for Sunday brunch and would happily return.

My husband and I went to brunch here with a friend. We waited for over 45 minutes outside to get a table. Once we were seated, the service was quick and friendly. I ordered cheese grits, a biscuit, scrambled eggs, and friend green tomatoes (which turned out to be one tomato). My husband had eggs, hash, and sausage. My friend... More

Been there 5 times. Food is good (even tough not everything is excellent, soups and salads are splendid, eggs and some sides a bit less), the atmosphere is welcoming, fair value, service is very nice. I suggest it more for a brunch or a lunch but it is just my guess. Since I've never been here for a dinner.

We had dinner here with our son and daughter-in-law. The portions are ample enough that my wife and I split a fried chicken and a side of three-cheese macaroni. They also had some good locally-brewed beer on tap.

I went here last Saturday with my girlfriend and we were both very happy with absolutely everything we had ordered. Her main was the buttermilk fried chicken (VERY crispy) and mine was a duck special on a bed of kale (impeccable). We are from Toronto where there is a large scene of places that specialize in haute-gauche (yes I just... More

Busy smart neighbourhood cafe which ticks all your boxes for sandwiches, drinks and food service. Not stand out but good and very nice setting.
