Great brunch!

We normally go to the general a few times a year for brunch and they never fail to serve up some great food. Just wish it was not so cramped. It's like sitting at one long table.

I have never done lunch or dinner here, just brunch, but they are good. I will have to try dinner or lunch here some time. I had plane fired eggs with bacon and as I write, I think they forgot to give me my bacon.

We dropped by for dessert last month and thought we'd try dinner. Sadly, the dishes were hit or miss and the service was a bit on the awkward side. Portion sizes were tiny. Salt and pepper ribs were devoid of meat, Calamari lacked flavor, Beets and Goat Cheese was delish but pizza was runny and bland. Latkes were good but... More

Walked here with baby and met family. Small place with cozy and friendly atmosphere. Food is unique and delicious; reasonably priced.

Great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch in a neighborhood with many good choices. What sets The General Greene apart is the very friendly and attentive young staff. Another plus is that they take reservations and have outdoor seating. Plus they have an outdoor stand where you can get ice cream, a cold drink, or a treat. It was really bustling... More

Indoors can get noisy, but outdoors on a beautiful Saturday for brunch—before heading to the Brooklyn Flea—the General was perfect. Belgian waffles, smoked salmon, eggs, fries, pork links, prosecco, coffee, beer, all was good. I'd like to see the bathrooms upgraded. Otherwise, don't change a thing.

We were in NYC last week to move one of my daughters out of her college dorm and took the opportunity to met up with my other daughter who just moved to Fort Greene. The weather wasn't that great so we wanted something close by and The General Greene is in her new neighborhood. We met up for dinner and... More

We met some family members who are visiting in Brooklyn --- and had a very pleasant experience at General Greene's. The staff was friendly and responsive, the food was above average (though not outstanding) and the prices were reasonable. We were there for Sunday brunch and would happily return.

My husband and I went to brunch here with a friend. We waited for over 45 minutes outside to get a table. Once we were seated, the service was quick and friendly. I ordered cheese grits, a biscuit, scrambled eggs, and friend green tomatoes (which turned out to be one tomato). My husband had eggs, hash, and sausage. My friend... More

Been there 5 times. Food is good (even tough not everything is excellent, soups and salads are splendid, eggs and some sides a bit less), the atmosphere is welcoming, fair value, service is very nice. I suggest it more for a brunch or a lunch but it is just my guess. Since I've never been here for a dinner.
