Best sushi ever, go there!

I'm on holidays here in Fairbanks, Alaska. My friend took me out to Wasabi Bay and I was overwhelmed. Never had such a good sushi before. Sam's a genious in making delicous things and wonderful decorations. The taste and quality is gorgeous, go there!

I am really picky about eating sushi. I hate overpriced sushi, and small nigiri portions. Wasabi Bay had a little of both worlds. I spent $68 on 6 pieces of nigiri and a 6 piece roll. Granted it's almost purely fish, the price seems to rack up. If you go to eat sushi or korean in a native country, you... More

We ordered a bento including tempura, sushi, teriyaki beef and udon noodles. Tempura is crunchy. Teriyaki beef and sushi is average but the udon noodle soup was disappointing. The udon noodles were mushy and the imitation crab meat tasted like flour. My friend regretted ordering udon noodles.

This little sushi spot has ok ambience. The host was friendly. The prices were high. In my opinion the sushi rolls had too much sauce in them and didn't display the taste of the fish. The salmon sashimi was very nice. The rolls are huge.

I sat at the bar and the chef made me custom rolls that were so good! This is my second time here and I will continue to come back! A must visit in Fairbanks!

This is the best sushi that I have had in Alaska! I was so suprised that I had to ask the sushi chef where he was trained. As it turns out he was trained in San Francisco and ended up purchasing the resaraunt several years ago. I will most certainly be coming back time and time again.

We did some research on the best restaurants in Fairbanks, Alaska before we left on our trip. Thinking we might want something different after eating salmon and king crab throughout our trip, we chose Wasabi Bay as a "change of pace" on one of our last days visiting in Alaska and the fact that we happen to love Japanese food... The place was deserted and did not look like much. I had the salmon teriyaki, it was nice. My partner had some Sashimi and he says that it was great (he is very picky when it comes to sushi). Prices where ok. Overall, we did like it.

Great sushi. The sushi chef came over to our table to help us decide what to order. So did the waitress. Needless to say, the service was spot on. The fish was fresh & delicious. The white tuna (escolar) melted in your mouth. The salmon was incredible too. If we are ever in Fairbanks again we will definitely be back!
