Alaska Salmon Bake

Overall it's a good meal perhaps a little pricey around 40.00 Although it is all you can eat of steak, grilled and battered Halibut and steamed crab legs, salad bar and drink; although the desserts Sponge cake and blueberries was a little disappointing. You may want to bring bug spray. It is on the... read more

Situated along the Pioneer Park, this is a must visit Restaurant in Fairbanks. This is also popular with Tour buses as well. this is an All you can Eat Restaurant buffet style with Two Drinks free. As the name suggests, tried Salmon and enjoyed it, as did the Cod. but the last part is most interesting ..... :) desserts. Yum... More

We took the free shuttle from our hotel to the Salmon Bake. It was very relaxed atmosphere. Loved the salmon and there was a good selection of salads available. After we had finished eating we enjoyed a stroll around the park before getting the shuttle back to our hotel.

The entrance to the Salomon Bake is resembles the entrance to the tunnel of underground placer mine. The mine shaft is complete with lights and an ore car on tracks. The tunnel exit leads to a monitor or water cannon used in hydraulic mining which is a variation on ground sluicing where the water delivered to the site would be... More

We ate dinner here during our day at Pioneer Park. The place looks hokey with an adjacent wooden salmon that you could sit on (I did it and got a good pic). Food was average - best was the fresh salmon. A little pricey but overall experience of eating outdoors on picnic tables was good. Draft Alaskan White beers were... More

$32.00 a person seemed awfully steep for this meal. Prime rib was fatty and salmon wasn't ready when I went to the grill. Other people in our group said it was "OK" and nothing special so I didn't have the salmon. The potatoes were good, but nothing else on their side dish bar stood out. Desserts were a disappointment. I... More

Its a little hokey with the tunnel entrance but dont let that put you off. The setting is quaint and the food is great. My co workers and I went on a Saturday night and it was busy but not over crowded. The smell alone gets you when you walk up as the Salmon is being baked over an open... More

Buffet or all you can eat restaurants don't really appeal to me. The Salmon bake offered all you can eat salad bar, prime rib, and fried breaded white fish all buffet style witb a separate room for deserts. Everything was average cafeteria grade. It's out door pinic style seating nothing fancy... get ready to drop $30 per person .

We were on the final leg of our Alaska tour and chose to add this to our itinerary. How could you go to Alaska and not go to a salmon bake. It wasn't quite what I imagined, but it was very good. We paired our dinner with a show later in the evening. This dinner is priced at typically high... More

A local interpretation and merging of a theme park restaurant with a down home menu (buffet). Usually excellent salmon and beer battered cod. Average prime rib. Occasional crab nights are a bonus. Side dishes and salad options are reminiscent of a neighborhood potluck, which is pleasant and befitting the atmoshpere. Outdoor seating can be very pleasant, or a bit pesky... More
