Meh...it's a diner

Nothing fancy. The food was so-so, and the reindeer sausage was somewhat bland and greasy. Waitresses were nice enough to us, but we overheard them greet someone else with "You know we close in 5 minutes, right?" as they walked through the door. It seemed to be popular with the locals, though, as... read more

This is a great hometown diner. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly. The prices are quite reasonable.

I grew up eating at and loving Steak 'n Shake restaurants in Springfield and wherever else in the country I could find one. The Diner in Fairbanks, AK is the closest to the caliber of Steak n Shake I have found. Just plain great food, served by friendly staff and the whole process is delightfully home town. Service was awful. We got more attention from someone else's waitress. I ordered the veggie omelet sans green peppers. It arrived 15 minutes later and had green peppers. I couldn't get the waitresses attention to send it back. The new omelet had many egg shell pieces. My husband had the meat lovers omelet and he enjoyed it.

We had breakfast at the Diner every morning except one on our week long visit and that was because we had an early morning excursion and didn't want to eat a big breakfast like we had at the Diner each morning. The food is delicious and cooked just right. I have never tasted better bacon anywhere. The worst part about going... More

The waitress ignored us for the first 10 minutes. Finally I stopped her to serve us. Then it took 45 minutes to get our food out even though it had been sitting on the counter for at least 10 minutes. Our waitress would look at it and then walk away. Our food was ice cold. We had to ask the... More

We ate here for breakfast. The hostess acknowledged us right away and indicated for us to sit anywhere, then brought us menus. We sat for a very long time before the waitress came to take our order and the service was kind of an "I don't care" attitude. The food itself was good, but was slow in coming. The interior... More

We came here for a quick lunch and were pleased by the clean, retro diner interior and the friendly service. A burger, some eggs, a Reuben hot dog, and the soup were all tasty and relatively cheap. However, the kids' Mac and cheese was beyond terrible. They'd do better to just use the boxed stuff. No flavor, gummy, and tepid... More

We had breakfast here after passing on the buffet at the Bridgewater. The food was freshly prepared and the service was good. The prices were reasonable and there were adequate choices for the meal. Would go back again.

Not only was the food horrible, the service also sunk. This place was one of the worst places we have ever eaten in and we highly recommend not going there. Our hamburgers were tasteless, service was so bad we truly thought about leaving before we finished our food because it tasted so bad. Do yourself a big favor, don't go... More
