I come to the chowder house quite often. The service is always great and the food is delicious. I can always get in and out in a reasonable amount of time and the food is always consistent. I would recommend the Chowder House to anyone :)

We were looking for some seafood. After we sat down the waitress said, Oh , your in the wrong place! And suggested another place, but we stayed, glad ! The clam chowder was v good and I don't like clams! Design your own sandwiches. A good expererience.

When I first arrived in Fairbanks a year ago, I checked Tripadvisor and decided to try this place out. It is a hole in the wall with a diner feel... which isn't bad because it can make you feel like a local. You write your order on a piece of paper and give it to the waitress. What boggled my... More

Pulled into town and was looking for a quick lunch. I read some reviews and had to try it. Pulling up, you know its classic hole in the wall classic diner and your gonna have a great meal. The place was packed at noon but was seated right away. I ordered the smoked salmon chowder and French dip. I was... More

Great chow. Priced well. Local spot. Place is always busy at lunch and if you don't get there early you will have to wait. Wait staff is on top of it.

This is probably the most consistent restaurant in Fairbanks. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal...ever. That's saying a lot! All their food is fresh made everyday. All the chowders are excellent...halibut and smoked salmon are my favorites. The chicken salad sandwich is very good and you have many other ingredients to choose from.... More

Had the clam chowder and it was wonderful. Thick and tasty. They have create your own sandwich with lots of choices. They also offer foir different kinds of bread in a mini loaf. Love it! The waitstaff is friendly. Located near the military base, good to see our men and women in uniform!

Went here for a quick lunch with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised by the chowder and the sandwich selection! I will definitely return with my family next time. I got the clam chowder and it was so so so good! The chicken salad sandwich was also very tasty and freshly made.

We ate lunch at the Chowder House, each getting a cup of chowder and a sandwich. We both agreed that the smoked salmon was better than the New England clam chowder (which was good, but the smoked salmon was especially good). Both sandwiches were big enough to cut in half for another meal. Service was very friendly.

It may be a little hard to find, and it looks a little dated on the outside, but the soups are delicious. When you are seated, you are given a pen and a menu sheet to select your food items and to build your own sandwiches. I love their fresh fruit milkshakes!
