The pie! The pie! The pie!

We heard the pie was great. We were definitely not disappointed. I had the berry pie. Warm and delicious. My wife had a butterfinger pie. I think it was 5 inches tall. Yum!

I finally had the opportunity to eat at Hilltop Truck Stop. It looks just like the name says, a truck stop. Anyway, I loved the food and the pie. For my lunch, I had sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. It was delicious! Good portion and cheaper than the usual Alaskan menu. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate... More

Very thin crust and full of fillings. They offer many flavors. I tried their apple pie & highly recommended.

Doesn't look much like a restaurant, it's the first truck stop on the Ice Highway (to Barrow), Alaska Rt 6 at milepost 5.5. A group of us stopped off for lunch and all enjoyed it. The menus items (hot & cold) read simple but what arrives isn't. What did were LARGE meat selections on a sub roll topped or mixed... More

We enjoyed a wonderful, HUGE breakfast here! The reindeer sausage was something not to be missed-spicy and delicious! A "must-try"! The home fries are fried to perfection...and the pies, THE PIES!! We ordered several pies to taste with our breakfast, and they were delicious! I recommend the 3 Berry Pie...best I've ever had out at a restaurant! Enjoy the characters... More

This place used to make omelettes that melted in your mouth. Not so much any more. But the pies are great. The potatoes are now premade where they used to be sliced and cooked with bacon and other goodies. The food is good and there is lots, just not like the olds. If you are heading out to Manely or... While in the Fairbanks area we felt we had to stop at the Hilltop Truckstop made famous on the show Ice Road Truckers. The restaurant was clean and smoke-free. There was a separate enclosed room for those who preferred to smoke. We ordered rhubarb pie ala mode and coffee as we love rhubarb pie. We were informed they were out... More

I've stopped here on three of four trips to the area; this time I had bacon and hashbrowns, which were fine. I had originally ordered the sourdough pancakes--as much as I love sourdough bread, these pancakes were way too sour for me so they took them away (just realized I was still charged for them, though). I originally was going... More

The food was good. Better than most truck stops. The home made pies were great. My husband and I shared a piece of dutch apple a la mode. One piece was enough for two, especially with the large scoop of ice cream that came with it. Beautiful drive out to the restaurant from Fairbanks.

If you want a slice of bitter disappointment rather than pie, then you should definitely go here. We have been about 4 times and there is usually only 3 or 4 pies to choose from but today we drove the 30 minutes to get pie and they only had ONE kind!!! What kind of place that is known for their... More
