This restaurant is overpriced (even for Alaska) for the quality of the food. We had planned a nice celebration dinner for our last night in Alaska. My wife had Salmon (previously frozen) and I had the Elk meatloaf. The food was average, the price high. We had much better meals at other restaurants. The atmosphere is nice, but overall we... More

Wanted to have halibut again before leaving Alaska...the grilled version was great, the miso version wasn't our favorite. Nice salad to share between us. Very pretty location. Variety of bread would be nice. Very expensive, we thought, for what you get, but Alaska is known to be higher than the lower 48. Staff was very nice.

My wife and I went to the Pump House for dinner last week and we had planned on spending some time in the bar area after dinner. We like playing pool on their pool tables and when I went to light up a cigar I was told that their "cigar bar" had turned into a "cigarette bar". I was told... More

The location is fantastic. It is right on the river and the outside dining is a great experience. The food, however is not that great and quite expensive. I've never had a decently cooked piece of halibut here other than the fish/chips. They could be so great if they could get the food right.

The main buffet was alright but not impressive. However, the fruit and dessert tables were awesome. Both offered large selection of delicious fresh treats.

We tried to go there in January, and it was closed during winter. Come on, guys, one of the top attractions in Fairbanks it the winter Northen Lights - we wish we could have enjoyed your famous meals.

The service is generally poor and the servers are never around. The past several times our waitresses have been sullen and very disinterested. We only go here when we have out-of-town guests so they can sit on the deck next to the river. Go to the Turtle Club, The Pagoda, or The Thai House instead.

During my 6-day stay in Fairbanks, I usually cooked at my kitchenette in hotel room with the food bought in groceries like Fred Meyer and Saveway. One evening, I and my tour guide had a dinner here. We two shared grilled salmon and seafood platter. Price good ~US$66. Food decent though not very impressive. I am a crab leg lover... More

We used to go here to have a cigar and a few drinks at the bar. Now only cigarettes are allowed. We could overlook the higher prices before (even by Fairbanks standards) but won't stop by again.

The food is very good here and on the last visit had the tempura dinner which would definitely order again. The atmosphere is wonderful with the historic touches, but expect to pay top prices for the your dining experience.
