Been here twice now, first time during Restaurant Week--it was great then. This time was leaning toward the crab cakes and asked the waitress about them. She said she was really picky and theirs were excellent. Also asked about the onion rings, again told they were excellent. The crab cake was okay, not great. It was huge, but had a... More

Two of us went here for brunch, ordered different things, and it was like we were in two different restaurants. I took the friendly waitress' suggestion and got a sausage gravy & biscuits brunch special. My friend ordered a sandwich. It took about 25 minutes to receive our order. The sandwich was impressive-looking, and he said it was very good.... More

Now, after living in the area for three years, I can consider myself a local. As a local, I will choose to dine here over any other place in the Fred. The decor may not be fancy, but it is comfy and clean. The service is always great. There are great beers on tap. The wraps and delectable and hand... More

We happened upon this gem on the 4th of July! As we walked in a man said, "You will love it!" He was so right! I had a grilled reuben and my husband had a specialty burger. We were not expecting the quality or the taste that we experienced. My husband said hands down, best burger ever! I have rarely... More

My sister and I came across this little tavern while walking the Battle of Fredericksburg area, recommended by a local we met on the street. The outside is fairly nondescript but the inside has atmosphere appropriate for the area. We both had the salad with smoked turkey and blueberry dressing, muy delicioso! The turkey had been smoked on site that... More

The addition of the micro menu at Sunken Well is a boon to those of us that can't decide which of the many great offerings to choose. Last week's collards and cornbread, fried oysters and the crab claws were all exceptional. The only possible negative was the difficulty getting in to the crab claws without tools. This was quickly overcome... More

Horrible service, long wait, OK food. Would not come back. We definitely didn't expect such a long wait being that the place is so small then when the food finally arrived it wasn't hot at all. Very disappointed

Consistency and service are the foundation of this place. Always good eats and fun people. Locals frequent it and visitors don't forget it.

We came to this place for Sunday brunch. There was a wait of 20 minutes which is usually a good sign. I had accompanied my niece and her 6 year old son. She had gotten a referral from a friend to come here. They were busy, but did seemed to be staffed for the occasion. The service was slow, the... More

We’d never eaten here before but in the past had heard some positive words from friends and even a Google search showed it may be worth a try. Running errands on a cold, blustery 30 degree day, we thought we’d pop in to place an order to go. We parked along a side street having to walk past the rear... More
