Restaurant Week Hit

I'm a little late in writing my review, but we really enjoyed our Restaurant Week dinner. This was our first time dining here and we were really glad we tried it. Stopped in for lunch. Cannot remember what we had, but it was good and we would return. Ambiance is ok, but not for a romantic dinner. Prices seemed fair to us. Nice local place to eat.

Came here for valentines night and could only order off the 3 course menu for $48pp. Started with the "picnic chicken" which was tasty but would have tasted better room temperature than cold. 2nd course was parsnip soup- tasty again but the chunks of sausage or proscuitto were overpowering and not needed. 3rd couse was pasta carbonara- using angel hair... Bistro Bethem is one of my go to restaurants in Fredericksburg. The meals are fresh and the portions are just right. I gave it a very good because of the staff...they all act a bit rushed.

I've eaten here many times since moving downtown 2 years ago, and have enjoyed every appetizer, entrée, dessert, wine. With MANY food limitations (gluten, nightshades, soy, sugar) and my own palate to boot, the chef has willingly accommodated substitutions, even with an ever changing menu. I'd had many delicious firsts...even Brussel sprouts...to my surprise wonderful!! The specialty cocktails and mocktails... More

Stopped in while taking in the sights of downtown Fredericksburg. Helpful and attentive staff, excellent food. Had a reasonably-priced lunch for two at a special rate as part of restaurant week we sat by the window. The restaurant was a little on the loud side however.

Had a great meal here with some friends. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Food was fresh and innovative without being fussy. Menu was smaller than a typical restaurant but still a varied selection was available. I actually prefer to have fewer choices of higher quality than a huge menu where attention to detail cannot be accomplished. I would easily recommend... More

This local owned restaurant serves freshly prepared and in season cuisine. The meat comes from a local farm. We have been coming to Bistro Bethem for the past three years and have enjoyed the quality and creativity of their menu. Last night, my wife and I split an orange-chili-cinnamon brined grilled quail appetizer on a bed of pulled lamb and... More

Interesting fare, quality sources, inspired design, but lukewarm and distracted service, get a sense that the staff see themselves as above the patrons. Still, the environment is nicely decorated, warm, and charming. I had my small intimate wedding dinner at Bistro Bethem, so it has some nostalgia for me. However, I wouldn't eat there with small children...child friendly food but... More

We came in with my daughter to have lunch. There were 2 tables occupied, the rest was available. We waited to be seated but there was no staff on sight. One of the customers told us to sit whenever we liked but we should choose the upper level because the lower level is not heated (outside temperature was 28F). We... More
