New Year Eves family dinner

Enjoyed the set menu for NYE as our first visit to Bistro Bethem. The lobster bisque for starters was nice but I would have preferred it be a little warmer. I also had the beef for main which was delicious and fell off the bone. Other meals ordered by our party were tasty especially the lamb bean... read more

It may be my personal preference, but I enjoy some things I have ordered here much better than others. The offerings that are very good in my experience are the Mussels (really exceptionally good), beet salad, and salmon is very well prepared and seasoned well. I ordered the backyard smoked brisket which to me tasted like very tender pot roast.... More

My daughter as loved the Bistro Bethem since moving to Fredericksburg long ago...I recently went there for lunch and have to agree...excellent service catering to the customer, while serving super selections of delicacies...for lunch try the BLT...wow...great...my grandson loves the mac and cheese...worth a try - especially during restaurant week...

Came for New Years food was okay bread was average. Ran out of the course I wanted no alternative. Said live music when we booked was a DJ did not come on until late. Would give it another try a lot of offal on the set menu. Good vibe overall but expensive.

Last week I had dinner here. I liked the ambiance and the original artwork on the walls. Most everyone in our group enjoyed their food. My shrimp was well cooked..but my grits were very hard. Not the creamy and comforting kind. I'm still not sure what the added seeds were. The place is owned by a former Marine. The dessert... More

Came here for a business lunch and will definitely return for a pleasure meal. I had the shrimp and grits. It was excellent but the grits was a very small serving. Almost just a shrimp dish with a few bites of grits. A few more spoonfuls would have pleased me more. The service was excellent; very attentive.

We've eaten here several times. The food is always good. Very good. But this place is so unbelievably loud at night when it's crowded that you literally cannot hear the person sitting across from you, let alone the waiter, but lunch is a completely different experience. It's next to empty at lunch, so you'll be seated immediately and the front... More

We had a light lunch here on a tight schedule. The food was very good and the waiter did a superb job accommodating our time schedule. Only complaint was that the beet salad had walnuts but wasn't listed as an ingredient on the menu. (I have a moderate allergy).

After a matinee performance at a nearby dinner theater, we went to Fredericksburg for dinner at Bistro Bethem. Service was good and the food was tasty. All four of us ordered different entrees -- each of which was attractively plated and delicious. Overall, this restaurant is good, but a bit overpriced for the area. ...Cost was typical of a D.C.... Wonderful exotic food but don't go if you are on a budget. For 3 of us the bill was $111.30 before tip at lunchtime. we had a soup, salad ( which was supposed to have been a side salad), macaroni & cheese and 2 sandwiches. My 2 friends each had 2 glasses of wine while I opted for iced tea.... More
