Great Reuben Sandwich

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago and had delicious cream of mushroom soup and then a glorious reuben. May be the best one I have ever had. Crunchy, but not dry, corned beef was lean and not rubbery. Add the kraut and wow! My daughter had the Eggs Benedict and said they were delicious. I... read more

This restaurant was the site of a get together luncheon with my Dad, whom I had not seen in three years (he lives in Virginia and I live in PuertoRico). I was celebrating my first year cancer free and finally telling him about it! It was a relaxing ambiance for such a stressful topic. William was a great server with... More

We visited here in August for Fredericksburg's restaurant week. We had been looking forward to it because we had heard a lot about it and several friends had recommended La Petite to us. Right off the bat, we had a little bit of a wait to be seated, even though there were several open tables. Next we ordered some wine... More

I have to say I am surprised by this review, as you can see we get great reviews regularly so this one catches me by surprise. I wish you would have brought up your concerns the night you were here about your distaste for the dish you ordered. So that we had the opportunity to replace the dish with something... More

This is a nice restaurant with a long menu, not very creative. Some few tables outside but a huge place inside. Food is average, large plates but nothing to fancy.

We like La Petite for both "special occasions" and for making a routine night out "special." Most dishes have sauces typical for French chefs that add a unique or unusual twist to an otherwise routine offering. Their liver and onions is a great example - give it a try and you will be impressed. Their seafood entrees are usually thick... More

I've been eating here off and on since 1989. The cooking has morphed to adapt to Virginian tastes and appetites. The portions have grown in size and the menu has become a compromise of content (brie, roquefort and manchego on the same plate? no.) and language (duckling à l'orange? Come on, just pick one language and stick to it). There,... More

It is a wonderfully decadent dish at La Petite (people who eat here regularly just call it La Petite -- drop the eggplant). The best thing about La Petite is the consistency of delicious food. Not the best I've ever eaten, but ALWAYS good. And the professional, friendly staff run a close second. Recommended for all special occasions -- Never... More

I have eaten at LaPetite many times and am always very pleased. This is one of the very nicest places to eat in the area (worth the drive if coming from a distance). It is "upscale" and there will be no disappointments if you are looking to be treated to a quality lunch or dinner experience.
