I Never Heard it Coming

The meal was delish! Steak Au Poivre: For the price I was expecting a steak with lots of cognac sauce. It's a fancy restaurant with the ambiance of expensive tastes and rich food. What I got was rich food and TWO steaks, exquisite cuts of meat and just way too much of it to eat (lunch tomorrow for... read more

Several kinds of soft, warm rolls and butter arrived soon after we were seated--such good rolls that it was hard not to fill up on them. Although our server described several tempting specials, we chose entrees from the menu: Jaeger schnitzel ($25.95)--veal with mushrooms, peppers, and onions--and chicken Baden Baden ($19.95), both well-prepared. The chicken breast over apple stuffing was... More

Excellent food! Be prepared to take home a doggie bag. Honestly, having lived in Germany for many years, I went into the restaurant at a -2 attitude. When I left, I couldn't wait to go back! When my family visited from New Orleans, we took them to the Bavarian Chef. My brother inquired, "How long has this restaurant been here."... More

We went on a recommendation of a friend. Food variety was good and sides served family-style (also bottomless!) Beware of the "special" apps...they are NOT worth the price! Food was good but not much taste difference in the sides. Quantity was VERY large for the meats, we both brought meat home! They refilled our sides to take home, too! A... More

This restaurant is in an old railroad station, the restaurant has embraced the train station which made the experience even better. My wife and I love German food, unfortunately there aren't a lot of them around so we take advantage of them when we can. The Bavarian Chef did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and... More

My wife and I visited this place for a rare dinner out. The restaurant is in the old train station downtown. Let me just say that the food is of very good quality and the portions are large. The only complaint I would have are the outfits the women are made to wear. This place wants to be upscale based... More

This is one of the few restaurants I have given five stars too. Since we heard the entrees were fairly large my wife and I decided to share everything we ordered. Our meal started with a smoked trout appetizer followed by a Dill Cucumber salad. Our main course was pork chops, which consisted of two chops. Our family style sides... More

I've been coming to this place since it opened. You receive grade A service and the food is better than eating at a buffet because of the unlimited sides. It's delicious so bring you appetite.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon with my daughters familys. Sat outside, nice atmosphere. Food was excellent. Service was surprising not good - took a long time to even find out who our server was, then drinks took a while to come, we asked for additional vegatables that were on the family style menu which never came, checks took a... My husband was more looking forward to a German meal than I was, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The dining room was lovely. It felt very European. It is situated in a former train station and has a very comfortable, authentic feeling. The food and service were both excellent. We both had wonderful meals. Our server... More
