We had dinner on a busy Saturday night. The charming ambience of the old railroad station was spoiled a bit by the terrific noise - all those conversations in a room with hard surfaces. Good bar and nice wine list. Service was excellent. My wife's wiener schnitzel was very good. My sauerbraten was soooo tender, and the unusual raison sauce... More

12 German beers on tap. Food is the real deal. Reserve a hand truck to get you home. I need to get to 84 characters so I am typing more words

Very nice place with relatively speaking gourmet style dishes. If you lived in Germany and are expecting a dish from the local village you lived in you may be a bit disappointed but regardless all the dishes are very very tasty and nicely presented. This is our favorite high end restaurant in Fredericksburg / Stafford area.

You can't go wrong at the Bavarian Chef location in Fredericksburg. The quality and preparation of the authentic German food was mostly very good to excellent, especially the main courses. Some of the sides were not as good. The bread served prior to the meal, for example, is only fair. Desserts were average. I don't mention this to put down... More

We brought two friends to Bavarian Chef, for dinner last night, and loved it. They were so impressed by the atmosphere, food, staff, and overall "feel" of the restaurant. We had plenty of leftovers too. So good!

After being stationed in Germany for so many years the family and I decided to visit. The food was great, similar to the meals we had while in Germany. The quality of the food and service was excellent and portions did not leave us wanting for more to eat. We will definitely go back for another visit.

My wife and I lived 3 places in Germany as part of my Cold War Army career so we always enjoy trying German restaraunts. This was a great experience--better than most. The old train station with high vaulted ceilings, roaring fireplace, and waitresses in dirndls was quite nice. We went for lunch and had a great experience. There was a... More

My fiancé and I happened upon this place on our way from Richmond back home to DC. We really enjoyed it! The food was phenomenal, and the service was a friendly sort that your rarely find the DC or NoVA! We accidentally came in on restaurant week, and the entire restaurant was book (a good sign!), but we were kindly... More

I live in Germany, so the review might come off a bit snobbish and foodie like. I'd probably give this review a terrible, but the little touches make it a poor. I was home visiting my family in th US and they wanted German food. The beer is really good here. Nice selection and one can see thought is put... More
