We stopped in at the Bavarian Chef for an early dinner. We enjoyed one of the large soft pretzels as an appetizer, which was accompanied with their in-house cheese sauce and a stone ground mustard. I enjoyed the Karlsbadener Sahnegoulasch, which was a very tasty veal stew with a garnishment of four dollops of whipped potatoes. My wife enjoyed the... More

I came to the Bavarian Chef last night (Aug 22, 2015) to celebrate my dad's birthday. We used to live in Germany so we were hoping for something authentic. They did not disappoint! First, Kim was our waitress and she was the cutest thing this side of the Atlantic with an amazing smile and extremely attentive attitude. She made the... More

I'm so glad we found this restaurant. It's a refreshing change from the usual. Set in a former train station, it's elegant and inviting inside and the food we had was delicious. It was very authentic and cooked just right. The decor inside has photos of when the station was used as a station so it was pretty interesting to... More

We live within walking distance of the Bavarian Chef. And if we were billionares, we'd eat there every day. I think we've been there maybe 10 times or more and have not have a single bad experience. My wife took me there recently for my birthday and it was such a great experience and made my day. The food is... More

Very nicely appointed restaurant. Serves you generous portions. Very good red cabbage and german potato salad. I had the chicken breast with apple stuffing. My husband had the sausage platter.

I love that people re-purpose historic properties. The owners of the Bavarian Chef did a very nice job. They maintained as much of the old time charm of the railroad station as possible. I may have given it a higher rating if I was a big German food lover. I know that they had the largest selection of German dishes... More

I loved the food at this restaurant. Had the schnitzel, which was tender and flavorful. Potato pancakes were also excellent. Great serving size, too. Went for lunch, had some town wide festival pricing deal which made for an even greater value. Would definitely be back!

We had a large group function at this place and I was impressed with the service and quality as well as quantity of food. Was it perfect? No, but few large gatherings are - this was one of the better events attended. We had a private room for our party but the restaurant looked quiet, intimate and inviting. While my... More
