to this German Restaurant in Fredericksburg, VA. We drove a long way to get there, it was a Saturday. Really excited about the excellent food coming to the table, we sat down, ordered and when the food came, something was not right. I think we may have chosen the wrong day to visit: the Chicken Baden Baden used to be... More

While traveling alone on business I look for a locally owned establishment that is quiet offering quality food and superior service. I found it all here. The service was impeccable and the quaint atmosphere of the once Fredericksburg main train station added even more charm. Being German the menu offers typical heavy style choices. I ordered the chicken with Apple... More

Good food, not great. Service is average. sometimes better than others depending on the server. The portions are quite large. Not a good choice if you are on a diet.

My family treated me to lunch on Sunday for my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. Having lived in Germany for three years, it was nice to find authentic German quisine in Fredericksburg. They were celebrating all things Spargel (asparagus), so we tried a couple of the specials. The beer-battered asparagus was a great appetizer. My wife and daughter... More

Translation: Come Hungry!! WOW-that's some amazing food! A German treat for the inlaws & ourselves. Our 13-yr-old son, who usually has hollow legs, was full when we left and already trying to figure out when we can go back. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was very nice (next time we'll know to ask for a table near the fire),... More

The food here is very authentic and well prepared. The portions are huge, and they have an outstanding selection of beers. The establishment is situated in the old train depot, and has been nicely renovated. It is a very pleasant and intimate setting, perfect for a romantic evening.

We are returning customers. This restaurant never disappoints. Amazing dinners, Wiener Schnitzels, Fish and Kottlets, soups and appetizers as close as you can get to German cuisine. The place is always packed (reservations highly recommended) and it goes to show you that people know good food. Service is very attentive and polite. Just like it should be. A great experience... I was first at the restaurant a couple of years ago when my eldest son took his wife and their children and I there for dinner following my twin granddaughters' graduation from The Dare Program at their school. Not that the occasion would matter to anyone reading my review; however, it was a special time for them and for me,... More
