Located in a former train station, the atmosphere is very interesting. Server was very knowledgeable about the various imported beers they serve. We both had the summer pork schnitzel special and each portion could have easily fed two people, so beware. The main portion was very good. It was served with a choice of "sides" which are served family style.... More

We met our friends half way to spend a few days together. We decided to eat here the first night of our long weekend. The food was outstanding, the service was outstanding and so was the atmosphere. I could have eaten at the Bavarian Café every night. I could not stop thinking about how fantastic the food was.

We love this place, in the old train station in Fredericksburg and dog friendly if dining on patio. Never had a bad meal here and the service is above board in every way. The chef is quite talented in bringing out the genuine German Flavors. The jäger schnitzel was a perfect blend of the Flavors with a hint of citrus.... More

not only was the food excellent, it was plentiful. Our waiter, the Chef and hostess's son, was fabulous. He walked us through the beer flight and was spot on. We chatted with the hostess, couldn't be nicer and gave us tips on what to do in the area the next day. When we are back in the area, this is... More

I was not expecting to fall in love with this place. I checked it out because I heard it was an amazing German restaurant. It definitely was worth the visit. Be ready to pay $$ for your meals. We went as a party of 5 but only payed for 3 people. Our bill after taxes and tips was over $100... More

My wife and I ordered one of the daily specials. I had the 12 oz pork steak and my wife had the breaded pork. The pork steak had so much grissle and was very tough, I ended up just eating the veggies, etc. My wife took about two bites of her dinner and did the same. We were there with... More

Amazing food. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The staff was courteous and knowledgable. The music was fun and up-beat. Be ready to pay a good amount for your meal. It's totally worth it!

We were eager to enjoy a taste of Germany and there were many aspects that brought that experience to life ... The staff provided a warm welcome and the environment accommodated three little children with us who were well-behaved enough that their presence did not detract from the couples near us who enjoyed a date-night at the Bavarian Chef. So... More

Came here with my daughter while visiting the local university. Its beautiful inside, the building once being a train station. Our waiter was super friendly. We had the Bavarian pretzel appetizer which was enormous. I had the stuffed portabella which was delish. The atmosphere is much more upscale than the prices and the portions were huge. Great choices in German... More

The food, service, and atmosphere where excellent. Had the Jager Schnitzel, delicious. Shared a flight of Harbrau and enjoyed a small Harbrau Lager. The wait staff was prompt and a tentative.
