Damn good!

Good old-fashioned minced BBQ with slaw and fries. Packed from the minute we walked in to when we left. Will return!

Minced or chopped bbq made the old fashioned way. It gets busy so get there early at lunch. They have 1/4 hotdogs.

Finishing up my barbecue tour, this small place looks old and smoky but the cue didn';t have much flavor, the sides were of the school lunchroom quality, the sauce was righteous but that wasn't enough to save the place.

My fiance and I went here yesterday afternoon while driving up route 1 towards DC and we were very disappointed. The place looks like a potentially great BBQ place from the outside. We immediately pulled over when we saw it and were really excited thinking we had just found a hidden BBQ gem.... unfortunately this was not the case. The... More

Really good pulled pork, (they call it sliced) cooked to perfection, very generous portions, nice Carolina sauce, but the ribs sauce was awesome! Sweet sauce not smokey, lots of choices on the sides - secret recipe cole slaw is really good! Very good meal, not much in the ambience department but the food is great! They seem to do a... More

I've eaten at Allman's off and on since 1986, and it's still my favorite BBQ joint. I use that term on purpose, because Allman's is a small town, hole in the wall kind of place with gobs of charm. The pork BBQ is excellent, the cole slaw is fantastic, the baked beans are tasty, and the milk shakes are just... More

From the outside you wonder, is it possible to have something like this still around. Enter inside and nothing has changed for over 50 years or more. Well one thing, they don't seem to enter the order by the little wire that runs along the ceiling from right front of restaurant to kitchen through hole in wall, now the order... More

Had seen this place a few times, and decided to stop in after reading other reviews. Overall,it was good and worth the visit. Here are my (lengthy) impressions: The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The restaurant it about 60 years old and shows it, but not in a neglected way. The staff and very courteous and work to make... More
