Nice neighborhood Italian

Pomodoro has good drinks and nice food, though the restaurant itself can be a little cramped and crowded and you can wait quite a while for a table, if they will even take your reservation at all. The times I've been here, or tried to go, the staff made me feel they were doing me a favor by puting... read more

If you like Italian food and dream of the North End of Boston before it became a touristic attraction, this is where you find a simple, genuine italian restaurant, where you eat extremly good. Service is friendly and prices are very good. Well selected jazz music in the background rounds it all up. Even if it is a bit far... More

Generic food, not worth the price. Service unfriendly. Waiter took order, brought food, left without saying a word. You can find much better Italian places in Beacon Hill, North End or Back Bay. Don't waste your time and $$ in this restaurant.

This little Italian restaurant should be better known. Our food was wonderful: the Fried Calamari appetizer is about the best we've ever had -- and we've eaten a LOT of fried calamari, on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific. My wife loved the Lobster Carbonara, with a surprisingly large amount of delicious lobster ; My Linguini with White Clam... More

Food was very good. Waitress was professional, but not friendly. I was shocked when I read on the dessert menu written in small font that they only take cash. For an upscale restaurant, this was a first for me. We were on vacation and had limited cash on hand. Very inconvenient.

Highlights included the rustic bread and the budino dessert. Fried calamari average. Fra diavolo pasta better than average. Salmon average- far too plain. Seafood Milanese (really like a paella) looked great. Fig bread pudding - no fig to be found. Cocktails: Negroni excellent ; south side not so much; wines by the glass good Nero D'Avila Service a bit inattentive... More

My family (party of 5) recently had dinner here for a birthday celebration. This small, quaint Italian restaurant is located in Brookline Village, within walking distance of the "T". The restaurant has no web site and takes cash only. It is very small. The food and service are outstanding! We had 5 different menu items and everything was cooked to... More

The service was pleasant and attentive and the menu was fine, but it was hard to carry on a conversation. Instead of soft soothing music befitting a cozy Italian restaurant, the music was raucous and irritating heavy metal which was gradually cranked up as the evening progressed. The demographic of the diners did not seem to fit the sound. Was... More

I was on vacation visiting a friend who lives in Brookline. It's a little vague whether they close at 10:30 or 11 depending on if you're looking at TripAdvisor or Google. It seems to be kept intentionally vague when I talked to the staff--it may depend on how busy they are. We came in closer to closing than I would've... More

The stars allied. It was Mother's Day. My wife was giving a piano recital. And my mother was visiting. It called for the big guns -- the great place -- the ideal meal. And so we went to one of our top picks, Pomodoro's in Brookline. This is an unpretentious but lovely and warm small Italian restaurant with very limited... More
