They got a bit of a rush and ground to a halt with many people waiting. An off-duty employee had to jump in and help. My pizza sounded like it would be good (buffalo chicken) but the crust was black and some was unpalatable.

When seeing a film at The Coolidge, it is extremely easy to grab a bite at The Upper Crust. I have eaten there many times and my only concern is that often times, the crust is not fully cooked and is gummy. I would NEVER allow that to keep me from frequenting this place, however. It has happened only a... More

Nothing fancy here. This place reminds me of the pizzerias my parents took me to in the 70s...only now you can get whole wheat crust! Wholesome ingredients, grungy atmosphere and fantastic service. We had a salad that was fresh and tasty, excellent pizza with ricotta and real sausage. Great music, good people watching. Go!

My favorite is the BBQ chicken. Crust is thin and crunchy, just the way I like it. It's a must have whenever I am in Brookline!

The Upper Crust, mainly a pizza takeaway but with a few tables where you can eat your pizza inside, a bit tatty but good service, helpful young lady took our order and explained the ropes, and very delicious pizza, $33 for a 14 inch pizza , filled two of us and a drink each (beer and wine) including tip. We had a thin crust 3 cheese pizza that was definitely worth the visit to Brookline. They have pizza by the slice if you don't want a whole pizza. They also offer whole wheat dough. I was happy to see pesto on the menu, we happily added it to our pizza. It is a small place with about 5 or... More

I haven't been blown away by the pizza, find it average. Do like being able to have a glass of red wine. Service is quick. Price reasonable.

The problems are legal, but if food is your only concern, the pizza is great. The combinations are only limited by your imagination. The atomosphere is casual. I've tried many combinations and choose simpler ones for my taste. Last time I tried the whole wheat dough and thought it a little over powering, though being health conscience I will choose... More

There is certainly better pizza to be had in the area but if you find yourself hungry and near the Upper Crust it's worth visiting. They serve thin crust pizza with toppings ranging from standard to the more creative. I've never been blown away but I haven't been disappointed either. The service is quick and they always have an open... More
