Hold the oil….seriously

From all the reviews I read, I went to Daily Catch with high hopes. I came home with an upset stomach from way too much olive oil on the fish and the veggies. Poor fish might have drowned in it! Waiter was inappropriate. When we said we didn't eat shellfish, he really pushed hard. "Try it this... read more

Went with my husband for dinner on a snowy Friday night. Lucked out and got the last table and it wasn't near the door! Small place, but manageable. Service was very good. Food was incredible. can't wait to go back.

I never spend a week in Boston without having seafood a few times. My meal at The Daily Catch impressed me: flavourful and fresh pasta, nicely cooked seafood, and a minimal toned-down ambience which nevertheless felt comfortable. A bit too heavy on the salt, but great dishes nonetheless, and the served-right-in-the-pan presentation was fun!

Small quint place got there early/ 5:00pm just in time . Order a glass of Pinot Grigio. $7.00, had two . Started w/ the Clams Casino $12.50, for (5). We shared a Mixed Green salad $7.50. The fried calamari is wonderful as are most of the pasta dishes. But beware of their "no"reservation policy. You can stand in line for 30-60 minutes and think that you're next in line. All of a sudden, someone will show up and be escorted to the next available table ahead of you. The wait staff plays favorites with those living... More

I have many time walk past both the Daily catch in Brookline and in Boston's North End to see long lines waiting to get into the restaurants. Last night, Walking down Harvard Street in Brookline, we saw the line stretching down the sidewalk and decided to give it a try. One hour and forty five minutes later we finally were... More

Get to the restaurant early since there is limited seating. Once you get seated the service is very good and the food is great. I had swordfish and my wife had shrimp (came in a frying pan) and both came with pasta. Place is small so one waitress and one cook, but do not let that fool you, they are... More

Thank God for little monkfish, especially when it's prepared in marsala à la Daily Catch Brookline!!! Come se dice "scrumpdili-icious" in Italiano? Smiles and twinkling eyes after savoring the flavor of a perfect meal is universally understood. All appetizers and desserts, too, and the many dishes shared by a table of five of us, were all superb. Problem is we... More

My wife and I shared the lobster Fra Diavolo, and it was one of the best meals we've ever eaten. Also, the service is excellent and they have some very good wines. We had to wait a little while for a table -- they don't take reservations -- but it was definitely worth the wait!

We had a fantastic dinner here with great service. Our table was literally within arms reach of the kitchen. It was fascinating to watch the chef - she was amazing. The bad part was it was a bit warm back there. There were 6 of us and everyone raved about their dishes. They offered a few specials in addition to... More
