Friday night delight

My friend and I followed our hotel's recommendation to dine at Daily Catch. Wow, atmosphere was cozy, lots of couples dining. We were seated a few minutes after arriving. I chose the poached calamari salad and my friend chose the calamari meatballs to start. My entree of scallops and steamed... read more

My husband and I visited the original 25+ years ago. We remembered it when we were in the Brookline neighborhood, and we took our kids there. Delicious, and better than we remembered. I had the chopped calamari squid ink pasta. I rarely order garlic bread, but knew I needed some there. Get there early and prepare to wait outside. Small... More

Arrived around 5:45p on a Fri eve.with a friend. A 20 min wait outdoors but so worth it!! Very small place maybe 10-12 tables but warm and cozy. Excellent garlic mussel appetizer and large piece of salmon with broccoli rabi, one of the entree specials. Nice selection of Italian wines. Had a very good glass of Chardonnay. Delightful waitress who... More

From all the reviews I read, I went to Daily Catch with high hopes. I came home with an upset stomach from way too much olive oil on the fish and the veggies. Poor fish might have drowned in it! Waiter was inappropriate. When we said we didn't eat shellfish, he really pushed hard. "Try it this time….We are a... More

Went with my husband for dinner on a snowy Friday night. Lucked out and got the last table and it wasn't near the door! Small place, but manageable. Service was very good. Food was incredible. can't wait to go back.

I never spend a week in Boston without having seafood a few times. My meal at The Daily Catch impressed me: flavourful and fresh pasta, nicely cooked seafood, and a minimal toned-down ambience which nevertheless felt comfortable. A bit too heavy on the salt, but great dishes nonetheless, and the served-right-in-the-pan presentation was fun!

The fried calamari is wonderful as are most of the pasta dishes. But beware of their "no"reservation policy. You can stand in line for 30-60 minutes and think that you're next in line. All of a sudden, someone will show up and be escorted to the next available table ahead of you. The wait staff plays favorites with those living... More

I have many time walk past both the Daily catch in Brookline and in Boston's North End to see long lines waiting to get into the restaurants. Last night, Walking down Harvard Street in Brookline, we saw the line stretching down the sidewalk and decided to give it a try. One hour and forty five minutes later we finally were... More

Get to the restaurant early since there is limited seating. Once you get seated the service is very good and the food is great. I had swordfish and my wife had shrimp (came in a frying pan) and both came with pasta. Place is small so one waitress and one cook, but do not let that fool you, they are... More
