Located in Brookline (you could say Boston except if you are from Brookline ) close to the "Brookline Village" D-Line T-Station (like 2 minutes away) you can find this Turkish place... for some people, the best in Boston. You may not notice from outside that its a Turkish place, but once inside the smell (good) tells you about it. Appetizers... More

We typically like informal, middle eastern/greek/turkish restaurants. Usually the food is tasty and the prices reasonable. Here, the food is tasty, although somewhat greasy. It's the prices that are out of whack. They charge "formal, attentive service" prices for a diner-like atmosphere. For the money, you can do much better.

I am still sick to my stomach. We went to eat with my family and ordered the food. The waiters was very nice, the food review was good. Except after they brought the food and we were eating, I noticed a Roach crawling the wall next to us. I caught it by a napkin and went to the manger to... More

Visited the restaurant for an early dinner with the family. Overall the food was quite good and clearly had a homemade touch. The server was friendly and accommodating of our toddler. The only real issue was the ridiculously high prices. For example, I ordered a platter which included rice, some vegetables and mediterranean style meat (doner) which I thought would... More

I've been here twice in the past two weeks. The food is amazing and I could shish kebabs all day long but the Mediterranean entrees are expensive, close to $20 each. Surprisingly, the American dishes are cheap and very good. You can get a burger for around $7 and it might be the best burger in the Brookline Village area,... More

I was in the mood for a Döner Kebab and the Family restaurant took care of my craving for a Döner. I went with the plate serving. I had the side salad, which was a very delicious cucumber and tomato salad. The Döner plate was loaded with thinly carved lamb. The lamb was simply out of this world. Service was... More

I want to preface this by saying that it may be a little unfair that I am grading this place based on my upbringing of traditional, homemade Turkish food. I came here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night with an Amazon Local deal ($15 for $30 worth of food and non-alcoholic drinks). We ordered the spinach pies as an... More

Pleased with this discovery. Crowded (but not overly) to give this dowdy place a nice boisterous buzz. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced for the portions. A plate of chick pea salad and fresh bread were brought to the table. We shared the lentil soup which was thin and pureed but very good. My chicken shish kebab (1 skewer)... More

We've been to the Family Restaurant many times with and without Groupon. Always very flavorful dishes. I grew up eating Mediterranean cooking by my Syrian mom. Some similarities especially with the use of spices and herbs. I love the Eggplant Entrees as well as the Eggplant Appetizers. Lamb Kabobs have always been tender and tasty. Service is friendly and they... More

Baba ganoosh is the best I ever had. We returned two days in a row for it... Moos aka is very good , the bread =bun is baked there and very tasty. Salads are fresh and rice is very tasty. Prices are fair and it seems that the place is always busy.
