Family group of 8 were graciously accommodated (reservations required by phone for large parties) at an upstairs table. We were greeted pleasantly and promptly and seated immediately. Our server appeared as soon as we were seated, took drink orders and very helpfully explained menu options and nightly specials. Very luckily, we dined on the first evening of a Boston restaurant... a great find. Very fresh ingredients used in the meals. Unique selections of salads. loved the fact there were beets on the menu. Drink selection outstanding. The wine list extensive. They even had Chimay beer on braft.

La Morra is located over Rte 9 in Brookline, so location is not great and parking may be a problem. I first heard of this restaurant from a physician friend of mine and apparently it is frequented by many other docs from surrounding hospitals. Decor is inviting with exposed brick walls and a dim light. Appetizers like the fried risotto... More

Simply, this place makes delicious and strong cocktails and the food is awesome. I highly recommend a few appetizers from their cicchetti menu, which is basically Italian meze or tapas. The fried sage leaves with anchovy are addictive. The menu changes periodically, but these seem to always be there. Any of the pastas for a main are a good bet.... More

After driving past La Morra for years, we finally had a chance to stop in for dinner on a Friday night. While it's much larger than it looks from the outside, it's still quite warm and cozy within yet still suitable for our group of six - we didn't worry about being a little loud as everyone else was as... On our last week in Newton we decided to go out for dinner here, not knowing our journey also started here 6 months ago. It was sheer coincidence we picked the same place. But what was truly amazing was that it needed the hostess to point that out to us! She recognised us, and welcomed us. That made our day!... More

We have eaten at La Morra a few times and never really been impressed, in spite of the good reviews it receives. Friends suggested it. We had not been there in a while and agreed to give it another try. We were not disappointed. The menu has changed much from our earlier visits. They have introduced cicchetti. Cicchetti are Venitian... More

I have been to La Morra many times, as my friend lives around the corner. Last time I had fish, which was excellent. My wife had a half portion of pasta bolognese, which was ample. My martini was cold and well made. The wine selection is outstanding. The servers are on top of everything. The prices are reasoanable.

I admit this was a risk after our much disappointed dining at the Heritage in Sherborn - the other restaurant owned by the same folks - but we thought that we should try anyway. Glad we did. No regrets. Very good food. Diverse menus - fabulous salads and entrees. Worth the effort and we will return.
