Taken by friends for a "casual" Italian dinner. Tucked away near Brookline in Boston, this traditional family run restaurant was a treat. Full to capacity - you have to book a table even on a weekday - the informal ambience sets it off. The menu was extensive, inviting, and the selection we had was delicious: Hanger steak, Chicken and Crusted... More

My wife and I were in Brookline yesterday and she wanted Italian. I queried SIRI on my iPhone and La Morra was one of 15 italian restaurants. I called and they were able to seat us. What a welcome surprise we had on this our first visit. The staff was exceedingly friendly and attentive. We both ordered arugula salads and... More

A good friend lives in Brookline Village, several blocks from La Morra Restaurant. I have been there many times and have always had an excellent meal. The eatery is small with precise service and interesting dishes. There are half portions, which we like. The martinis are very good. The wine menu is extensive.

We've come here a number of times over the years--it's the place to celebrate with a gift card. Service is cordial, accomodating and never condescending. The food is un-fussy and wonderful.

Valentine's Day, Wife's Birthday, Anniversary? These are the times when I think of going to La Morra. It's not a place that I'd go for the once-a-week date night -- because it's a little pricey. But the specials are truly outstanding and worthy of that special occasion. My wife and I both love it. The service is as good as... More

Used to love La Morra. Went there recently and food was terrible. Flank steak was overly smoky. Pork shank was dry and without much flavor. Sides were just mounds of overlooked potatoes, grits or greens with just a lot of salt.

La Morra is still cozy, with a nice atmosphere and very good service, but the food was a little less ... inventive, effective ... and too highly salted ... than it was when I was last there. My dining partners agreed. Maybe chef was just having an off night. My pasta was delicious, but the side of brussel sprouts ...... More

We've eaten at La Morra many times and the food is invariably excellent: creative, beautifully executed, and truly delicious. The imaginative dishes are a testament to the talented chefs. Foodies, fans of Northern Italian cuisine and anyone who wants a fine meal should come to La Morra.

We picked La Morra because they had last minute availability. The restaurant offered a 5 and 5:15 PM reservation online but when we arrived, we were informed they didn't open till 5:30 PM. They apologized and said we could sit at the bar but they could only serve us water. For dinner I ordered Tagliatelle Al Ragú with bolognese expecting... More

Serving to a maximum crowd during Restaurant Week may be just a bit beyond their best effort. The noise level in this small place with a full group didn't help. The food was high quality with a creative intent. Service was good, if a bit slow with the numbers present. There is some parking which is always a plus with... More
