Our party of three thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Fireplace. We started with the black mission figs filled with bleu cheese and drizzled with blueberry honey - amazing. I had the grilled peach salad and added salmon to make it a meal. The flavors were wonderful and the salmon filet was large and perfectly cooked. Also ordered: the house... More

i have been going to the fireplace ever since it opened. but this time would be my last. the food was not up to the usual standards that i have found of the fireplace in the past. ok, but not great. more importantly the waitstaff doesn't seem to have been trained on serving. at our table of 4, the server... Not that great! Food is suppose to be "New England" themed. However the use of maple syrup doesn't make something NE. No balance to anything. Heavy hand on the use of sweet, rather than savory. Staff are great. Menu needs some sense. Try the other spots in Washington Sq. you won't be disappointed.

Fireplace burger. Feh. Salty, not particularly good. Roast chicken. Pretty good. If you're handicapped to get to the upper seating you need to walk around the outside to another door. Was better a number of years ago. Family friendly.

The first time I went was in the summer and the seasonal menu was delicious. However the next time I went, it was the winter menu, and I was very disappointed! I thought the menu was very limited and overpriced for the small servings.

Took my husband to The Fireplace for father's day. We used Open Table for a reservation, and the hostess called to confirm in the afternoon. We arrive on time, and I got a bad feeling right away. You enter through the bar/fireplace area, yet the host station is up a small flight of stairs. It is hard to know what... More

Full disclosure: My wife and I went to this restaurant because my son works there. He wasn't working that night and went with us. Trust me, I would have gotten a seat at the bar anyway. I expected a nice place with good food because my son wouldn't work there if it didn't offer quality, and this is a strip... More

Not a bad place in Washington Square. Some interesting cocktails, okay beer list. Seem to focus on local food, liquor, and beer which is cool. We had fries and the chip basket. Chop basket was really good with kale chips, sweet potato, and regular potato chips.

Interesting menu. Food well prepared. Service is always first rate. They were on the verge of selling to a New Haven Pizza chain but backed out. Maybe looking for a better deal. Knowing that they came close to selling makes one wonder how long they will be around for. If they go it will be a loss for Washington Square... More
