We were given a gift certificate and were looking forward to try the restaurant. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. That was the end of the good service. Sat for 15 minutes before waiter brought water and left so fast we could not tell him we did not have a wine list. Ordered drinks, bread arrived and then... More

Nice setting with round tables for easy chatting with everyone, wonderful creative selections of lunch menu with many gluten free items, great dessert selections, and reasonable pricing. I especially like to go there for girls luncheons, as services is good, waiters/waitresses are friendly, and we can sit and chat there until whenever (plus there are ample free parking spaces in... The Fireplace always has an imaginative menu beautifully crafted. Chef Jim Solomon is a great guy and a fabulous chef. We have used this restaurant for events and also for superb catering.

My wife and I had brunch at The Fireplace in Brookline, Massachusetts. The restaurant was full on a Sunday morning so we were glad we had made a reservation. The menu included brunch items like omelets and eggs Benedict as well as lunch dishes like burgers. Our food was very good and came quickly. There was some bread with the... More

Been here twice and have concluded that the food is very average. Ordered the "award-winning" burger the last time we were there and it was nothing special at all, plus it was cold and we had to send it back. The waiter was totally nice and apologized, but we certainly expected better. Also the bread they handed out was completely... More

Joined friends on a recent evening for dinner. They were seated at a comfortable table when I arrived. Server was either preoccupied (and it happens to all of us) or disengaged (couldn't figure out former or latter). Food portions were generous, and came hot out of the kitchen, which is truly appreciated. Water glasses were refilled thanks to the Manager... More

We were looking for a relaxing restaurant after a stressful day, and we were luck to be recommended to this restaurant. It was a chilly evening, and the fireplace, which is the centerpiece of the restaurant, was going full blaze. It was an immediate destresser. The atmosphere was cheerful, the food delicious and inventive, and the service was just as... More

A short cab ride from Coolidge Corner to Washington Square - and worth the trip. This is an upscale casual restaurant with an extensive menu. The wait staff were young and were appropriately costumed for Halloween. We had rib-eye and chicken, both were done to perfection. The vegetables were tasty. The wine list was extensive and the servings 'by the... More

The Fireplace is excellent all around...great service, menu, drinks and food. Plenty of gluten free options prepared and served with care. Our server, Holly, was knowledgeable, attentive, and could not have been more accommodating. Suffice it to say that we'll be back.

This is a smallish place with a great bar (great cocktails) and fine food. It is not inexpensive and will add up quickly. But, for a special occasion or just when you want to treat yourself to a superior dining experience in the neighborhood, this is a great place.
