If you decide to stay in Brookline during your next trip to Boston, which I actually recommend, its such an amazing neighborhood, you'll want to check out this fantastic Japanese restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food was very well prepared. I've had a lot of great Japanese food and this ranks with the best I've ever experienced. I'll... More

I walked in to Fugakyu on a friend's recommendation and ordered Nigiri, Makimono and Teriyaki chicken to go. The fish was fresh - really fresh. The meat was grilled to perfection and perfectly sliced. The sauces were magnificent, chopsticks were premium quality, rice freshly prepared, everything clean, miso was perfect. I eat sushi frequently - this was the best ever.... More

In this large restaurant in Brookline you are transitioned into a Japanese village. There are private shoji areas as well as booths and an upstairs where a lot of families were eating. We went on a cold winter night and this was a haven for fresh, well prepared Japanese food and sushi. The menu is quite large and the service... More

Fugakyu is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Boston and luckily for me it is in my neighborhood. Sushi is excellent and they have a large menu of cooked food if you are eating with non-sushi eater. The service is consistently good.

They have a large selection of sushi to choose from and the prices are not that bad considering the quality of the sushi. I recommend paying the extra $1 to change the seaweed for soy paper in the smaller rolls. You get more fish and its less chewy. The first floor tables are each sectioned off in to smaller rooms.... There are lots of sushi options within a mile of Coolidge Corner, but Fugakyu is my favorite. It's a bit pricier than its competition, but the experience is totally worth the extra few dollars. It's a huge restaurant (3 floors), but is broken into small dining rooms which gives it more of an intimate feel. My favorite aspects of Fugakyu... More

My family and I were fortunate enough to have lunch here on Christmas Day. Servers are lovely, décor is very nice, and food was great. We had two appetizers of shumai and vegetable tempura, Dinners consisted of sushi, bento boxes, and vegetable udon. All choices were excellent. We have eaten here before and have never been disappointed. I do like... More

This restaurant is hands down the most authentic looking japanese restaurant i have ever been to. As soon as i walked in the door i was blown away. The entire inside of the restaurant is bamboo and many of the tables have a sliding paper door that makes each table its own private room. Unfortunetly for me they lead us... More

My wife and I just joined friends of ours for a dinner get together. Our friends chose Fugakyu as they have dined here before. We arrived on time and our reservation was ready; however I was not as I had to break a $1.00 bill for change in the meter out front. This didn't phase the staff at all and... More
