Large Japanese Restaurant: Good for Special Occasions.

I have eaten at Fugakyu on many occasions. It is pricier than some other sushi options in Boston (I order from Fin's Sushi regularly), but the quality is higher in terms of food, service, presentation and ambiance. Food: The sushi is pretty fresh and on par with their prices. The party... read more

Excellent, fresh, invitingly prepared and well made sushi, sashimi, maki and Japanese food in general. Our family and friend's go to place for sushi. Seems to draw a large crowd of students and 20-30 somethings from Japan, so I guess this is a very good recommendation as well. Very pleasant atmosphere with comfortable dining area, sushi bar and many private... More

This used to be our favorite sushi restaurant in Boston. It is still decent, but no longer outstanding. The food has gone downhill while the prices have gone uphill. You can get sushi of this quality now at many places in Boston for 1/2 the price. The sake and hamachi were both firm but a bit slimy. The Idaho, which... More

I celebrated my birthday with my family and we were all delighted by the quality of the food! Very well prepared and quality ingredients! If you order a Shabu shabu, do it for more than 2 persons, so you get it cooked at your table. This was the only disappointment, we ordered so many appetisers that there was no place... More

This was the second or third time we had been to the restaurant. We usually sit at a small table in the main area but we had a party of 8 and decided to try for a "tatami" room (need 8). Fear not, the area under the table has been "dug out" so you don't have to sit with your... More

Friendly and knowledgeable service who helped us to navigate the menu. This must really have been the best Japanese restaurant we have visited. Long open hours. Many veg options, which is crucial to us. Fabulous food!!

Based on the recommendation of the owners of our B&B, my wife and I enjoyed a Friday night dinner. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to seat us quickly, despite being busy. The service was especially friendly. The decor was interesting, and inviting, and the pleasant atmosphere helped shorten our wait for the meals. Both meals were very... More
