I am an avid sushi lover. Fugakyu on beacon street in brookline is unreal! it might be a little pricier than most sushi places, but the quality of the sushi is 5 star quality. I was there last week and got there pretty late and they were still serving sushi til 130am. We ordered eel maki and spciy tuna maki... More

Came here for a romantic date. Service was great when we came in, all the way to the end. We got a nice bottle of wine. We also tried their sake flight which was interesting! We ordered a lot of sushi and they were all amazing. It was such a great evening. It was my first time in brookline, so... More

I have not eaten here in a while and went tonight to celebrate my friends birthday. I was once again not disappointed with the fresh sushi. Our waiter was a little, well different but attentive. He forgot to charge us for two rolls and we asked the manager to please add in the food we did order. The Sushi hear... More

Fugakyu is very good, but Hiro, one of the sushi chefs, is fabulous! Try to get seated in his area- he will not disappoint. Aside from putting together some amazing and inventive sushi creations, he's absolutely charming. There's also a separate bar area, which is nice if you're not looking to eat a big meal and just want to have... More

Fugakyu is a must for every visit to the Boston/Brookline area. The sushi is top notch, service solicitous and speedy. We love the house dressing for the house salad, by the way! Run, don't walk, to Fugakyu.

Came here one night with a local who raved about this place. nice ambience and cool set up with different seating areas. The menu is extensive. I ordered my usual sushi favourites and all the fish was fresh but was seriously let down by flakey rice. Sushi fell apart and disappointing for such pricey sushi. Won't be returning. Poor rating... I walked in to Fugakyu on a friend's recommendation and ordered Nigiri, Makimono and Teriyaki chicken to go. The fish was fresh - really fresh. The meat was grilled to perfection and perfectly sliced. The sauces were magnificent, chopsticks were premium quality, rice freshly prepared, everything clean, miso was perfect. I eat sushi frequently - this was the best ever.... More

In this large restaurant in Brookline you are transitioned into a Japanese village. There are private shoji areas as well as booths and an upstairs where a lot of families were eating. We went on a cold winter night and this was a haven for fresh, well prepared Japanese food and sushi. The menu is quite large and the service... More

Fugakyu is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Boston and luckily for me it is in my neighborhood. Sushi is excellent and they have a large menu of cooked food if you are eating with non-sushi eater. The service is consistently good.
