Village Smokehouse

This place is a cute casual restaurant that have all kind of Barbecue food that is very good. I especially like the Ribs and Chicken. Do visit when in Brookline. They also do takeout if in a hurry.

It's hard to get beef ribs in Boston, so the Village Smokehouse is a favorite. The helpings are very generous and the sides are also good. There can be a wait.

Met a friend for dinner here last night. We had a wait for our friend, but were seated right away. We ordered appetizers: BBQ Egg Roll and Onion Rings. The Onion Rings were very tasty and the rings did not slip out of their coating (huge for me). The main meal was exceptionally tasty: Spare tips, BBQ chicken and brisket.... More

Took the T outbound to get a steak at a more reasonable price. A quick ride from Back Bay to Brookline did the trick. The Smokehouse was less than two blocks from the station. Steaks are cooked on the grill that is open to the eating area and next to the bar. Nice family atmosphere and obviously a local standard.... More

This place has been solid for a long time. The barbecue is really good - if you've got a craving, this will do just fine. Fun atmosphere, nice service. Recommended.

Love the food (especially the hard to find beef ribs). The bar is the perfect place to catch a Sox or Bruins game. Fun atmosphere. Laura and the other bartenders are wicked friendly. Waitstaff in the restaurant section seems somewhat transient and lack the experience and ease that the bartenders consistently demonstrate. I recommend pulling up to the bar, having... More

Village Smokehouse was a real treat. Located in a neat little area of Brookline, the meal beat all my expectation. The baby backs with very tender, with a delicious bark and perfect sauce. The baked beans were just sweet enough and completely wonderful. Typically the corn one gets in a BBQ joint is of the water logged, super soggy variety... More

All I need to say is that it was a Monday night and we had to wait for table. The place was busy but the short wait was well worth it. We got a table close the grill and watched food being prepared, which is a bit of a show in itself with the flames that were being created. The... More

on my regular list of restaurants. my philosophy on restaurants is that most have only a few premium menu options, and for this restaurant, I believe their babyback ribs are the best in town. they fall off the bone and the sauce is great. no better place in boston. also, the atmosphere is great with great selections of country music...
