Our first night in Brookline, while wandering we stumbled on The Abbey. Great pizza. A little warm inside, decent service.

Went to dinner with my friends for my buddy's b-day. We had a large group and the waiter was very accommodating since it was a slow Tuesday night. The food and drinks were good as usually.

I've lived in Brookline for 5 years and have sampled all the neighborhood restaurants, and I'd have to give The Abbey the prize for "best all-around" restaurant in Coolidge Corner/Washington Square. The food is utterly delicious. I have never eaten anything here and said, "eh." My usual reaction is "oh yeah, that's mighty tasty." They serve a delicious burger, and... More

Friends and I stopped by The Abbey for lunch yesterday. Service seemed to be good as our server came promptly to take our food and drink orders. However it took an inordinately long amount of time for the food to finally appear. I don't understand establishments which seem understaffed on big holiday weekends like Memorial Day. The food (when it... More

Nice for lunch and nice for dinner. If you like brussel sprouts, they have shredded ones as a side which are great. That is the big draw for me. A nice pub like atmosphere with upgraded healthy food, long bar and maybe ten or fifteen tables. In the good weather, it is nice to sit outside!

This is a delightful bar and restaurant in Brookline, clearly well patronized by the locals. The dinners we had were excellent. But they don't take reservations and they only have six or seven tables, which meant a long wait. They do serve food at the bar, but just know that once you get there, you may well have to wait... This place has it all. Unique and tasty drinks, great appetizers and main courses, dimly-lit ambience, and reasonable prices for the quality. Considering how good the food is and how nice the atmosphere is, The Abbey remains unpretentious. My personal favorites are the oven baked brie with caramelized onions and apples, the bison bolognese, and the Fearless King cocktail with... More

I have dined here several time in the last few years. The menu is compact, but every meal has been very good. The small plates and appetizers are interesting and I really like their cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual with a neighborhood feel. The prices are reasonable and the service efficient and friendly. There are not many places... More

The folks who made Washington Square Tavern great decamped to start The Abbey. The food is even better, consistent, beyond just pub food, to be honest. Worth waiting for. For lunch or dinner or brunch. And very good beers on draft, very good wine selection. Small, intimate, not too noisy and a neighborhood treasure.
