Great experience

Knowing that they don't accept reservations, the 4 of us arrived before the dinner rush and got a super candlelit booth - I love the ambiance here! Everything we ordered was beautifully done, flavorful. They have small plates as well as appetizers - we ordered the deviled eggs and cod fritters... read more

Beer selection was good. The service was good. Sit away from the bar if you want to hear. The frites were more of French fry bits, than full long fries but they were tasty.

My boyfriend and I wish we could get over to Brookline more often to dine and/or grab drinks at this great spot. The bartender is friendly and attentive, is calm despite the busy environment and always has a smile on his face. They always have a great variety of beers on draft (and in bottles), and their tomato bisque with... More

Wait staff was incredibly helpful and professional. The food was mixed. Several dishes really had the wow factor and impressed, but a couple of dishes fell flat.

Always full, and they don't take reservations, so be prepared to have a drink at the bar first, The Abbey does great food and wonderful cocktails. A great place to catch up with people and enjoy a relaxing evening. It is pretty dark in there, maybe to give that feel of an actual candlelit abbey, but we are talking "can... More

I was invited by my employer and a friend for lunch. I had a burger with blue cheese, salad and shoes string fries, I am not a lover of burgers, but this one was just great with crispy crunchy pickles, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Quick service, friendly service and a great little place, would definitely... More

My daughter and I enjoyed a great reunion with a dear friend at The Abbey. We enjoyed several of the entries on the lunch menu including the Spicy Tomato soup and grilled cheese which I enjoyed immensely. My daughter had the tuna melt which she said was delicious on their artisan bread and my friend had the fish taco which... More

The food and service were both very good, but not outstanding - hence the 4 stars. Service was friendly and attentive most of the time. Food was overall quite good but not exceptional. The burger was good but not great. The bolognese was good and had a kick to it. My niece ordered the flatbread but just as a cheese... More

We arrived without a reservation, so ate at the bar rather than wait for a table. The bartender was personable and attentive, even though the restaurant was very busy. We both had the roasted cod. The fish was fresh, the potato pancake crispy and the shallot cream sauce was divine. Even the bread was so good I asked for seconds.... More
