Went on Friday night, SUPER_BUSY !! However, left our names. I like that they let you leave & try to get a better reservation (shorter wait time) and trust that you will call to cancel if you do. We did not get a better one & the table was ready immediately when we returned. We informed them that we/they had... More

The Abbey is a local favorite in Broookline, MA. In a neighborhood crowded with foodie restaurants, it holds its own and then some. We come to this cozy and welcoming spot for its well designed menu of excellent dishes, including my favorite, a spicy bison Bolognese. Thet always includes local and craft brew selections. The appetizer list includes a modules... More

Small, but great menu. Reasonable prices, fine service and well-prepared food. No desserts, which is fine, because more food would be way too much. I hesitate to recommend The Abbey, because they don't take reservations, and it's already really hard to get into it during normal dinner hours.

The Abbey is a quaint, local restaurant/bar. The waitstaff was knowledgable and timely, the cod was cooked beautifully and served warm in a cast-iron pan and the chicken was one of the best I have had! HIGHLY recommend going here..

Going in for hip replacement surgery the next day, so a last meal was in order. Ihad appetizer of codfish cakes - 3 small, round balls, full of fish with an excellent remodoule sauce of some type. Followed that with mushroom and asparagus rissott - flavorful throughout. Wife had 3 large meatballs of some type, very hearty and the red... More

A great Brookline restaurant and bar. Always busy in the evenings which is a great sign. The beer selection is great and the food is tasty. The staff is also very friendly. A great cozy neighborhood find!

The noise level was high, but it was possible to talk on a Saturday night. The food was very good, and was a good choice of beers.

Arrived here on a Monday night and they gave us a great table by the window. Great beer and wine selections with local and brand names (something I love vice just local which you might not be in the mood for). Appetizers of skillet warmed brie on a torn white bread was fantastic, as was the cod fritter which reminded... More

GREAT neighborhood restaurant! Tasty food......active bar...nice gathering place! I used to live in Brookline and now when I come back to visit I always enjoy the "Local" establishments rather than the tourist traps. This is the place!!!
