LOVE Tommy-O's!! Casual and intimate setting with fabulous food, conveniently located in the central hub of Vancouver's bustling downtown area. Great place for lunch after a delightful day of strolling through the colorful Vancouver Marketplace at Esther Short Park! Highly recommended...all my guests have loved it and ask to return with each subsequent visit to Vancouver!

Great menu that you'd expect from a restaurant featuring food to remind you of Hawaii, but the dinner I had the other night was a tad bit disappointing, compared to my previous visit in 2014. I had the kalbi ribs (see the photo) - the rice was a bit mushy, and the ribs had too much sauce on them. Maybe... More

Stopped by here for quick lunch. Shrimp tacos were delicious and came with a side of black beans with sour cream which was also good. It was cheap - $8 for two tacos. My colleague's fish tacos was so reported as very good. Would have rated 5 stars except service was slow and seemed put out every time I agreed... More

Tommy O's is by-far, my favorite place to go for happy house in the greater Vancouver area. The food is superb and the drinks are fantastic. You can't beat the quality of food and drink for the price. You can also find Tommy (the owner) strolling about the restaurant checking in on customers and making sure everyone is happy. This... We had a nice dinner here. One of us is on a low-carb diet, so they were willing to substitute rice/potatoes for green veges. Busy place for a Sunday night. Our waitress was a bit short with us to begin with, but eased up as the meal progressed. All in all, I'd return and would recommend to others looking for... More

I was not overly impressed with the Hawaiian style food or the sushi/sashimi. I felt both were pretty average. The cocktails were good. Service was average to poor. What is awesome though is the Sunday night jazz jam session in the Tommy O's Lounge next door! Then the appetizers stand out partially due to the price. I had the Kailbi... More

With so many restaurants popping up all over, there is a certain comfort in a restaurant that has staying power. Tommy O's is one of those restaurants. This adorable little cafe type bungalow has been on the corner of Washington Street and 8th Street Downtown Vancouver for years. I recall the moment I discovered the deliciousness inside in 2004. Since... More

We have eaten many, many times at Tommy's. The food is always top of the line.. don't forget to add lobster risotto as your side dish.. absolutely great. Staff is very friendly and Tommy is a hands on owner. Everyone treats you like a friend. They also have a great happy hour... and sushi.

If you're in the mood for something a little different (or for island-oriented food), try Tommy O's. I avoided this place for a while because I assumed the food would be too niche for my taste, but they do have a nice selection for all palates. Even better, the Hawaiian plates (e.g., kahlua pork with macaroni salad) were quite tasty... More
