Charming Historical Building. Nice Experience!

This building is part of Vancouver's historic Fort Vancouver. The Fort is the first place I take visitors, because it's beautifully maintained, and is an integral part of Vancouver's history. Grant House is very attractive, has a separate lounge and the dining room has park-like views. The menu is varied and very good, and there is a private dining room... More

I'm a local who enjoys meeting people at the Grant House for lunch or early supper. The restaurant is very comfortable and the staff attentive and friendly. I can always find something on the menu that does change with the season; today I had quiche, fresh fruit and a green salad for $10. The quiche was broccoli and cheddar and... More

The Grant House is a jewel at Fort Vancouver. One of only two former residences open to the public in Officer’s Row, the atmosphere is wonderful. We have had a number of lunches there and have taken guests repeatedly. Ask inside where you can view the original log construction. We found it always helpful to phone for reservations, as they... Grant House is located in Vancouver's Central Park and has great food in a historic setting. It is the house in which General Grant lived when stationed at Fort Vancouver. During warm weather meals are served on the huge porch overlooking the parade grounds of the Fort. I'm not sure if there are facilities for large groups, but it is... More

We used to live on Officers Row right next door to the Grant House so this place is in our fondest memories. Lunch outside on the back patio is very pleasant - nice little salads, sandwiches, and quiche plates with a glass of Chardonnay. Dinner inside feels a little stuffy at times, but the food is ok (not great). The... More

The Grant House is a beautiful historic house. I had the gnocchi with pumpkin cream sauce which was delicious. The menu changes seasonally. I enjoyed the quaint, romantic atmosphere. Definitely not a place for small children. For us, this is a special occasion restaurant. The portions are small and the prices are on the high side.

The Grant House is a quaint restaurant located in the home that General Ulysses S. Grant lived in while he was stationed at Fort Vancouver in1850. This is a great location for any traveler visiting Fort Vancouver and the surrounding grounds as it is located on Officer's Row, the street leading into the National Park. The food was good, the... Great place to have Thanksgiving dinner! Make sure you have reservations, as it was very busy! But, they were attentive and good food to boot! Loved the historical aspect of this restaurant!

We are locals in the Vancouver Wa. area a frequently visit the local eateries both in Vancouver and nearby Portland. The Grant House has provided the setting for many great nights out with friends and family, and has become a mainstay in our agenda anytime we have out of town guests. The service is very good and the menu, all though... It is slow paced and quiet. So if that is what you like, and many do, this is a great to visit. I found the food to be slightly above average for a restaurant with commiserate pricing. Not really a place to take children. A good place to have a long conversation over lunch.
