The Grant House is a quaint restaurant located in the home that General Ulysses S. Grant lived in while he was stationed at Fort Vancouver in1850. This is a great location for any traveler visiting Fort Vancouver and the surrounding grounds as it is located on Officer's Row, the street leading into the National Park. The food was good, the... Great place to have Thanksgiving dinner! Make sure you have reservations, as it was very busy! But, they were attentive and good food to boot! Loved the historical aspect of this restaurant!

We are locals in the Vancouver Wa. area a frequently visit the local eateries both in Vancouver and nearby Portland. The Grant House has provided the setting for many great nights out with friends and family, and has become a mainstay in our agenda anytime we have out of town guests. The service is very good and the menu, all though... It is slow paced and quiet. So if that is what you like, and many do, this is a great to visit. I found the food to be slightly above average for a restaurant with commiserate pricing. Not really a place to take children. A good place to have a long conversation over lunch.

Went for an experience and was a bit disappointed. I think lunch and happy hour might be your best bet!

We loved eating in this "house." Service was just right and food delicious. Beef tenders were excellent, and my husband who is a big beef eater couldn't finish them. The chicken pot pie was fantastic and filled with non traditional pot pie veggies like butternut squash and cauliflower...delicious! We had the calamari appetizer which was lightly breaded and very good...but... More

We have eaten at The Grant House quite a few times, with a variety of people and situations. Each time we have been impressed with the service, the setting and the food. We like to take folks from out of town, and impress them with the atmosphere there. The food is excellent each time, with seasonal offerings.

Although the menu is limited and seating is as well, a visit to this often by-passed restaurant will be well worth the time. If you want a great place to meet a friend or have a couples lunch/dinner , drive over to Officer's Row to the Grant House. Call ahead for seating and times. The food is prepared using local... After a great segway tour with Vancouver Segway Tour, around Ft. Vancouver, the waterfront, Esther Short Park, we relaxed at the Grant House for appetizers and cocktails. Great end to a wonderful experience.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Grant House last year and plan to do so again this year. It was a traditional Thanksgiving meal and it was perfect: The food was excellent, atmosphere classy yet comfortable, and service was prompt and friendly -- everything was wonderful. We've had other dinners there as well, and they've all been equally good. The... More
